You're very funny.
Check my previous posts, I've been here for quite some time. I'm real and I'm spectacular.
And quite honestly: January keeps getting jobs so my guess is that neither January nor her agent feel the need to post messages on the internet water glass that is IMDb. Only film nerds (and, yes, I'm one of them) care about what is written here.

i think you are blinded by her beauty. She is possibly one of the most beautiful women i have ever seen, but no, she is not an amazing actress, even calling her an actress is a stretch.
I used to think she was alright when i had only seen her on mad men, but her "preformance" in xmen was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad. I dont know what her character was like in the comics or anything, but i doubt she was that wooden. -

You clearly do not understand the definition of "best". Perhaps you are from Bizarro world? If so, you have my apologies as well as a hearty welcome to earth!
this.

I agree, she is flawless as Betty Draper in Mad Men and I loved her in X-Men: First Class too!

I don't get the hate either. I remember at one point everyone seemed to like her fine, but then all of a sudden people started treating her like a Kardashian. She's a good actress, she's not versatile, but good, and I saw an interview with her once, and she seemed really cute and likable. It might be because she was bloody terrible on snl, but cut her some slack, not everybody can do a live comedy show like that.

It is because they only saw her on Mad Men up to recently. So they thought her emotionless, terrrible acting was a good portrayal of her character. But afdter seeing her in other roles, they ar realizing it is just her being a horrible acting.
My godI am watching American Wedding and she was even horrible in that! -

yeah its definitely that people only saw her on madmen. I remember when thats all i had seen her on and i was like "jeez why isnt this women in everything?!" I mean shes absolutely gorgeous and i she plays betty draper flawlessly.
Its obvious that in madmen she wasnt acting. She must really be the same character in real life and so the part came naturally to her. I mean shes just a bored, spiteful, spoiled woman, there are lets just say, ALOT of women who have that attitude.
I'm pretty sure everyone agrees that shes gorgeous, and if she really was as good as other characters as she was as betty, there would be no stopping her. Isnt it a sign when her first big break in a big movie as a completely new character in a different setting (than madmen) was pretty much the last thing she ever did? Shes got just about NOTHING comming up, and madmen is losing popularity cause of its retarded hiatuses. -

like someone else said,1354 it is 100% because she completely embodied betty draper on mad men.
everyone mistook her incredibly realistic and believable preformance for acting chops. She obviously made the mistake of not keeping herself typecast and grabbed the first big role that she could get.
too bad for her it backfired and everyone saw how limited her ability is. We all learned that she is betty draper, not an actress that can play betty draper.
the hate started in 2011 when she was seen on xmen. Thats why people "all of a sudden" started to hate on her. Before that it was mainly mad men and she was excellent on that. -

Hey everybody she is playing a character in screenplay and she is BRILLIANT. She is Betty Draper the cold upper crust wife of Don Draper(a beast) and then I couldn't believe she was in X Men.Her shifting gears is fascinating as Betty Draper you can see the depth of character just by a look or the tone of her voice. She does remind me of Grace Kelly in looks but she is a much BETTER actress. I love her but I hope she doesn't get stereotyped as the 'cold' blonde even though I love her. I hope she plays comedy and then you'll see what a great actress she is. I love you January and wish you all the success in the future

I'm 6 episodes into season 1 of Mad Men and would also describe her acting as wooden. I don't think she's a bad actress, I think she just needs to loosen up. I realize she's playing a very uptight 1950s housewife, but that's now how people really are - just how they behaved - and it's clear from the writing so far that her character struggles with that dichotomy. But the actress doesn't present that struggle her lines seem full of potential but that goes wasted upon delivery.

I'll put my two cents into it.
I think she's good in Mad Men. Her looks and acting style suit the role perfectly.
I recently saw her in X-Men: First Class, and I felt she was there more as eye candy than anything else.
A while ago I saw her in Unknown and I felt she was seriously miscast.
So, I think Mad Men has made her popular, and either she or her agents are choosing the roles which aren't giving her the chance for some real acting.
Why is it whenever I'm having fun, it's wrong? -

I wouldn't say she's a bad actress but I can't say that she is at all a good actress. From what I've seen on MM she's not very visually dynamic, like with facial expressions and reactions and stuff. She's not very likable in the show either, I can't put my finger on it but there's just something about her that bothers me, and it's not the character herself, it's JJ's interpretation of the character. Even if the character is supposed to be despised in the show, the actor should make it something that you love to hate, like Campbell's character.
But what's this got to do with the CIO? -

I hope she has a great career ahead of her.
As long as whoever she's related to is powerful in Hollywood, she will continue to get parts. No other way an actress as meh as her could be working as much as she is.
