love it when people knock vinnie jones,he gets the roles which suit him ,heavys or the such like (mind you the riddle and mean machine are better than average!!).have you seen him in midnight meat train only says one word yet is the best thing about the film (and i did like mmt by the way !!!)
hes never tried to be a de niro or pacino although with the cr111cap them to are putting out at the moment he must be doing better !!!!!
long may people keep putting vinnie in films i say

Because Vinnie comes up to you and says "you know, I reckon I'd be the dogs bollocks for this part in your film".
At this point you have three choices.
Hire him immediately and instantly realize your movie has a certified nutcase who will make any character he plays look far more badass, hardcore, and intense than anyone else could.
Stall, hoping he'll lose interest, and then hire him at the expense of your testicles. (See
                http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/44442000/jpg/_44442581_gazza_jon e300s.jpg
                for details)
Say no, and lose a lot more than that.

not sure about charisma, i do think he is at his best when he has little lines in the script, but at the end of the day he is just a cockney hard man in hollywood
that being said, give the man an oscar

Agreed, he's at his best when he just stands around with a menacing expression. Like as a Bond villain henchman for example.

DaveMcAllister- You are a huge douchebag. You expressed your opinion on Vinnie Jones. No one flamed you for that, yet you insult people on no bases. I'm not a Vinnie Jones fan by any means, but everyone has a right to their opinion. No one objected to yours. Why would you insult someone based on their nationality? Moron.

I like how McAllister bashed Americans, it probably made him feel cool, like insulting Americans is cool, Vinnie Jones is a good actor, his Lock Stock character was excellent, and Bullet-Tooth Tony was his best act yet.
Don't worry, I saw Lord of the Rings. I'm not going to end this 17 times.

Hes hardly had the best material up until now. Lets see how he does in The Irishman, he'll be surrounded by good actors in that, hopefully it will raise his performance.

I've seen him in two movies. The first was She's the Man-the teen flick with Amanda Bynes. The other was recently in Year One. David Cross was also in each one as well. I think Vinnie Jones is handsome, and I enjoyed him in both these comedies.

Easy answer - charisma and screen presence, and Jones has both !. You dont need to be a great actor to be a successful movie star (Schwarzenegger,Stallone, Norris etc etc).

I'm on board with the awesomeness of this guy. I love it when directors/producers don't go with name actors and just give hard working blokes gigs to make a living. Quentin Tarentino, for example, is genius at casting against type or giving actors a chance to shine even if they aren't popular or well known, or even talented (which is relative anyway). These are the underdog actors I like to root for and not the Tom Cruise's.
remember, no matter where you go, there you are.
