Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Jamie Kennedy

First of all, I think he's been in a few decent movies. I just happen to hate Son of Mask and Malibu Most Wanted and 90 percent of the half-baked movies he's been in. On the other hand, I loved him in the Scream movies. Is it because he does a lot of garbage? Or do people just hate the way his voice sounds? What the freak is it? Can someone, perhaps an actor or a director, write a concise paragraph on why Jamie Kennedy is so loathed?

He got big-boy nuts and started acting like your typical LA douchebag. He showed up drunk as hell to an E3 event he was supposed to host, ripped on the fans, walked off early, went on a series of tirades against the people who actually paid to see him specifically and were pissed that he showed up drunk, then went on to make a movie that acted like internet trolls and movie critics are hecklers.
The guy's essentially made one good movie, Scream, and has blamed everyone else for his lack of talent or professionalism.

Yeah his career definitely started to drastically decline after the release of Son of The Mask. His earlier films were all pretty good but didn't have him starring in them. He's much better in a supporting role: Scream 1-3, Enemy Of the State, Boiler Room, Three Kings, Romeo & Juliet, Bowfinger, etc.
