Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Jamie Kennedy

I'm not a fan of either group, but there is a world of difference between the two. A heckler interrupts a
    live performance
, forcing everyone in the audience and the performer themselves to deal with, or endure, their interruptions.
A film critic watches the show just like anyone else in the audience, then writes and publishes their thoughts about what they saw. By Kennedy's standard of "heckling," Richard Roeper and Gene Shalit are hecklers.
Conflating the two seems like an incredibly scummy way to try convincing your audience that people who simply don't enjoy your work are the same people that ruin live performances for an entire audience.
You can just refuse to read film critics' articles A luxury you inherently can't get with hecklers.
Everyone who ever loved you was wrong.

Holy sh)t I thought I was the only one who "got it." Dude just came across like he felt he was above film criticism because he made a whole buncha sh)tty moves in his career. If any of the people he highlighted were actual hecklers, the'd have been yelling at the movie screen Not telling other people how godawful Son of the Mask was long after it ran.
Honestly, I think dude's just angry that the veneer of "cool nerd" was lifted and all we saw was a whiney sack of sh)t who doesn't appreciate the people who made him successful.
