Why isn't Jamie Kennedy in Scream 4?

Why isn't Jamie Kennedy in Scream 4? Randy Meeks is a very loveable character, and one of my favorites! His extensive knowledge of movies bring another level to the Scream films. I know2000 he was killed in Scream 2, but he still made an appearance via videotape in Scream 3. I figured they would find a way to give him a cameo in Scream 4 as well. It won't be the same without him!

As much as I'd like to see him, it would be too forced to have him in a SECOND video..why do the exact same thing again? I don't think he should have ever died in the first place. The video thing was awesome but he's the most likeable character.

I agree that the video thing would've been stupid a second time. Here's my idea for what his role could've been: When Sid's in the hospital, she semi-comatose, and sees Randy. As kind of a hallucination kind of thing. They have a heartfelt moment, and he convinces her to put in a last fight.

I miss Randy. I would've liked it if he actually was alive, but had left Woodsborough after his vicious attack. He made the video in case another killer stuck, claiming he was dead on the video because he either was predicting his death or to hide the fact that he had survived but wanted to be far away. But he gets drawn back into events somehow that was just my wishful thinking lol

OMG the fans should have written Scream 4. LittleMissKGiggles that could have soooo have worked for Randy to reappear like you saiddidn't Randy say something about an unexpected back story as one of the rules?

It would've been nice! There was definitely a noticeable lack of Randy in the last two parts lol, I think he just bought a real warmth
Mind you, everyone says they made a mistake killing off such a favourite, I think it actually shows that they did something right, that even after all these years, people still talk about it, and that it really bothered most people. So props to Jamie for making such a loveable character that people actually cared about, and still do! -

Because there's no believable way for Randy to have a video prepared for 10 years into the future. Randy never saw Blair Witch Project or Saw or any of the new horror films, remakes, etc; so how could he know and understand their rules and conventions? Randy was many things, he was not psychic.
