If it came to doing a biopic on Clift, I think Marsden could be good in that role.
Clift was a very troubled individual, from what I read; and he was driving down a canyon road outside Los Angeles, and crashed his car and was badly injured. He was not sober when this b68happened.
He had to have facial reconstruction, and never looked the same as he did before. I think facial bones had to be worked on.
I don't know all the details of Clift's private life; he was gay and an unhappy man, again, according to what I read and/or saw on documentaries about him. He was a very close friend of Elizabeth Taylor. That would be interesting casting, too.
I liked Clift in A Place in the Sun, and Raintree County. I had read the latter in college - a very long, poetic-style novel. I don't think the film could do it justice. If they did do a film of his life, I would think that they would try to reconstruct at least pieces of movies he acted in.
I remember Montgomery Clift as having slow, halting speech. Perhaps his film roles dictated that. -

As beautiful as Marsden is he is already too old. I worked with him and trust me, He is difficult to look at, he is that flawless. He is also the sweetest guy. such a joy working with him. A better choice might be, Douglas Boothhttp://www.imdb.com/board/23150488/mediaviewer/rm3754556672
