Yeah I noticed that too but in addition to Hector there are a handful of other actors and actresses who are consistently cast in his films. How could you miss it? It's always interesting to see them pop up out of nowhere in supporting rolls. Check it outyou will see the connections!

        You can bet it is.
From what I've heard Garry and Hector have been very good friends for a good part of their lives. He does put him in every one of his movies.
They go back as far as "Pretty Woman."
In case you didn't know, he also uses his family A LOT!!
For example, his daughter Kathleen Marshall has been in a ton of his films.
Most recently however was playing Abigal Breslin's school teacher in "Raising Helen" and playing Kathrine, Queen Clarise's assistant in both of the "Princess Diaires movies."
He's also had his wife, (she's so cute) in several of his movies as well as his two grandaughter's Lily and Caroline. (You can pick them out easily in "The Princess Diaires" and "Raising Helen.")
And you also see a lot of Scott Marshall who, is either his son, or nephew. (Can't remember which.)
But, yeah, there is a lot of nepatism in his movies, but that's what make's them great. You're familiar w/ these actor's and actresses and it's also cool to know their family. I love garry, there should be more people like him making movies, or in hollywood period. He's a brilliant director, the world would be at a loss without him!! LANI

Sorry, I messed up, his grandaughters are lily and Charolette.
not Lily and Caroline. So many names, so hard to remember. And Scott Marshall is his son. 🙂 🙂
His other daugther Lori is also in his movies.

also, defaziorules, you mentioned Abigail Breslin, who was in Raising Helen and Princess Diaries 2 as well.

You're totally right. BTW, has anyone seen "The Princess Diaires 2" yet? I've heard it's better then the first. And, let's face it seeing Garry Marshall do a sequel to one of his movies is pretty rare. He doesn't really do sequels. Well, if anybody's seen it and liked it please, post what you thought of it. I can't wait to see it.

I saw Princess Diaries 2. It was great; really funny. However some reviews say that in the beginning, you can predict what will happen in the end. But other than that, it was a pretty good sequel.

One of you said before that they go back as far as pretty woman, this is true, but infact they go back even further than that. They go back to The flamingo Kid. He has been in every single movie since that, and he even guest stared once in Murphy Brown! The only movie he wasn't in after Pretty Woman was The Lottery and that was a short film that was only 3 minutes long. I noticed that he had been in all of the Garry Mashall films that I had seen, infact that's why I looked him up. I was watching The Princess Diaries and it said from the creaters of Pretty Woman, and then I started noticing him in more movies and I thought, I bet this movie was directed by Garry Marshall. I came here to check and see if I was right. I also have come to realize Patrick Richwood is in a lot of Garry Marshals films.
                        Welcome to the Caribbean love.

In the 1980s Hector Elizondo befrien5b4ded Garry Marshall, who was impressed with his talent. Their first movie together was "Young Doctors in Love". In some of the movies in which Elizondo appeared, he went uncredited. In "Pretty Woman", however, Marshall insisted on crediting him. His role in "Pretty Woman" lasted only ten minutes, but it led to his receiving a Golden Globe nomination. In 1999 he co-starred in "Runaway Bride" as Fisher, the husband of the male protagonist's ex. Elizondo has participated in more than 80 movies (17 of which have been Marshall's). He has appeared in every movie that Marshall has directed, including a brief appearance as a fisherman in the movie "Overboard", which starred Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn.
