Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Reba McEntire

    Haven-Loc — 15 years ago(September 01, 2010 02:37 PM)

So my mom is reading her book and was telling me about her life as a child. Her Grand Dad was a hog who wore chicken beep on his vest after he let chickens crap all over it. And Reba helped cut open the cows balls and then took them in to Granny who cooked them and they all ate them. I would sure be telling all this in a book.

I suppose you are a better person because you were fed store bought meats your entire life, eh? Chicken meat that has been covered in feces, urine, various bloods, infection, disease, etc. Lord forbid somebody eats something that you have never tried and therefore think is disgusting. In a lot of countries, eating snakes, lizards, and other "non-typical" food animals is part of a normal diet. Even what we would consider domesticated animals such as cats and dogs.
As far as her grandfather letting chickens crap all over him, you think that is just a fetish? Did it not come across your closed mind just once that he might be an honest, hardworking farmer working to earn a living to provide for his family by producing food for people like you and I to eat? In today's society with so many "fathers" cowering from their responsibilities and obligations, I respect any man who provides for the family he has made, no matter what he does as long as it is honest. Ab68n honest day's work is something that most people seem to be allergic to anyway.
All of this is heresy anyway, as you yourself had never read the book, just repeating what you had heard. Maybe you will grow up and learn about the things you preach against.
