Minghella was 54 years old. People dying in their 50s is not uncommon.
Fifty-four is a young age to die these days.

EXACTLY! Omg why are people not getting this? and to the OP, putting Brad Renfro in the same boat as this man and Heath Ledger is ridiculous. Heath and Anthony were talented, Renfro never had a a lot of talent, and even at that he was a hasbeen when he died. Heath wasn't even at the peak of his career yet. I just don't get why everyone HAS to make a comparison. they died, it's sad now move on!

just because you think brad renfro wasn't very talented, others dobrad renfro might not have been as big of a celebrity as heath ledger but that doesn't make him less talentedyou don't know what he would have done and he was still working, he certainly wasn't a hasbeenalthough plenty of people were apparently predicting he'd die of an overdose, still doesn't mean his life has less value than heath'syour post comes off like you're giving heath ledger's life more value and that's sick

I never said his life had no value. I said he was a has-been. He was, his family has even said he didn't want to be part of show business anymore. That by NO MEANS means that his life was of less value. (and my comparison was mearly that he shouldn't be put into the same category as Heath in terms of show business). I believe the point I was trying to make was. people die every day doesn't mean this death is more or less important than any other one.

JaxonCady, where di2000d you learn that there are 500 million deaths per day. That would mean in only 12 days the whole human population on the planet would finish.

sugreev, you really can't be that dumb, can you? Believe it or not, just like miles said, people are born every day as well, I know, crazy notion isn't it? Roughly 600,000-700,000 per day. Anyway, I said half a million, not billion
