      "Only the Good Die Young"
      Life - enjoy the ride!

Amen - I'm 38 and work in the film industry. It has no reason but the candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long (Blade Runner). I have seen the corpse of humans live till 95 and did nothing for 40 years - go out in a blaze of glory 🙂

On the other hand, I'd rather belong to the likes of Ridley Scott and Clint Eastwood who have passed 70 and are still more active than most of their younger collegues.

absolutely!! given my druthers, i'd prefer to live to a ripe old age - whether being productive or just hangin' out (in my
            very
old age) - watching t.v. & surfin' the net to keep my brain cells moving around!
life may be crazy sometimes, and the world may be upside down most of the time, but i want "my candle" to burn for a very long time!
and as my signature line says
            Life - enjoy the ride!

the candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long
this is oh so true, filmbforever! i've known people in my life who fit that description perfectly!
but one genius (that i obviously
              didn't
know) who has always come to my mind is the wonderful
              George Gershwin
sadly, he died at the age of 38 from an inoperable brain tumori've loved his work since i was a very young girl, and often wondered what else he could have created had he "lived old"
but the world would never know because, as you said, the candle burned out
              Life - enjoy the ride!

No harm done - Im the least bit superstitious!
And, the answer to the question no-one asked is working in film keeps you as a man-child.
                      🙂
