You can kind of tell on TV, but my mother saw him in a restaurant years ago, and said that they were the lightest blue she had ever seen. RIP, Carroll.

I don't remember much about his eyes. But I got to meet him in 1972 when I was about 11 years old. My dad and I were on the beach around Malibu. He was there with his son Hughe. Mr. O'Connor scared me to death because I thought he was like Archie Bunker. He was hust a regular guy with his son on the beach spending some time. He spent about an hour and a half talking to me and joking around, he was very soft spoken. Then he bought my sister, dad, and I a cup of Ice cream.
