Randy Rhoads was the best imo, idk saying that zakks pinch harmonics make him the best is an invalid point, there are several more difficult techniques to do than play pinch harmonics. I think zakk probably is technicaly the best player but not because of his harmonics just the overall range and different styles he can play. The reason I prefer rhoads though is just because I prefer his riffs and solos I think technical ability usually is a moot point, I mean imagine if yngwie malmsteem was ozzys guitarist it'd be crap.

Yeah, thats a good point about thechnical ability and Malmsteem would be crap as Ozzys guitarist (he is way too OTT in his soloing if you ask me).

I prefer Randy Rhoads. I think, that whilst Rhoads wouldn't do a shredding solo, Rhoads at his best was as a composer with his classical playing (Mr. Crowley, Diary Of A Madman) Lee never lived up to his potential and as great as Zakk is, I don't think he's as good as Randy.

I've seen them all over the years. From great to bad. 2nd row in front of Randy Rhodes July 11th 1981 in Portland, OR was the most awesome display I've ever seen. Getting Randy, Rudy, Ozzy and Tommy's autographs after the show, was priceless. I was 15 years old, and a budding guitarist, I could already pound out the usual hard rock chops, but I truly didn't understand what I was seeing when I stood literally 12 feet in front of Randy for the whole show. It was like the rest of the band melted away. beep if I could only go back in time and see that show again. It was like a guitar lesson from god.

Randy was the best, the tribute is one of the disc I would grab to save before the flood.

Blizzard of Ozz, Diary of a Madman and Tribute are 3 of my all time faveourite albums ever, Randy's soloing was second to none on them all. Has anyone tried learning any of his songs? I can play most of Crazy Train, Mr. Crowley (which are a real challenge!) and a few Sabbath tracks.

Ultimate Ozzy is better than tribute. It has all the best blizzard tracks, some tracks from diary and bark and many rare ultimate sin tracks.

I think randy rhoads. He played beautifully and was technically gifted, zakk can shred a lot but randy's playing was more versatile and beautiful-sounding.

Randy Rhoads is inferior guitarist than Zakk Wylde. And no, I dont know what the heck are u talking about, ehh "techno-ish". All u Randy lovers dont like real metal what Zakk is all about.Ur too pussy to listen to Zakks manly and heavy riffs and Randys mellow riffs u can stand cus u have no duration.
BLS, No rest for the wicked ,live and loud, just say ozzy, no more tears and black rain has proved enough. Randy is childrens music ,but when u grow up, ull see that Zakk is the real deal. Even if Zakk played mr.crowley solos with his legs, u would appreciate more Randy cus u simply dont like real metal. U like classic rock. Zakk has done in Desire a solo worth better than Randys solos. Zakk has played 20 years and it would be a miracle him not to be the better guitarist.
I really dont get WHY is Randy better ? I mean Zakk is clearly a better guitarist theres no contest. A moron could tell that. So why are u acting even stupidier than a moron ?

You realise that Randy wasn't purely a metal guitarist like Zakk, he was more of a classical musician who played in a metal band, Randy was more of a musical pioneer the way he introduced classical elements in his playing.
