I can't stand to hear her speak. You'd think that she would get some speech therapy. It makes me wonder why would anyone cast someone with a speech impediment. A person without a lisp can fake one, but aparently a person with a lisp can't fake not having one.

Statements like that never cease to amaze me.
Why wouldn't a person with a lisp be casted? Instead of criticising each other's differences we should embrace them. Wouldn't life be boring if we were all the same?

Yes. Every actor should look, talk and move the same and just mimick reality. THE LOGIC HERE.
Please check yourself. Would you point out anyone's imperfections in such a crude way, if you were face to face?

Not to mention of ALL the people OP could've mentioned, she BARELY has any audible lisp AT ALL. How ridiculous a claim of OP to make.

Thank you! See, you get it. We really don't want to see people like that on tv - it makes us uncomfortable. Like you pointed out - it's just better if we see people that are like us.
What's going on? What's all this shouting? We'll have no trouble here

I think her lisp is attractive. It is unique, and adorable. And she's a phenomenal actress, so I don't know why it would put you off this way, but I suppose that's the beauty of individual preference?

I do have to admit a lisp can be sexy. I like rhotacistic women even more. Weally, I do.

So learn how to use the remote control. What a childish complaint. You can hardly hear it anyway. What a whiner.

I agree she us truly appalling to hear and her acting doesnt cover for it. She isnt worth all the adulation and has made several seasons of AHS tough to sit through as she is always mistakenly made the focus.

It annoys the crap out of me too. Almost ruined American horror story (the good first 2 seasons)
