I hate how people twist and spin everything out of proportion for their own gain. John Mayer's remarks were arrogant and stupid, but his apology was genuine and he is a good person. Also, I believe he made the remarks sarcastically to make fun of that sort of racist mentality I think people magazine and the like are now blowing up this Holly Rob-Pattinson-whatever-her-name-is into a big deal that needs to just go away!

Why does SHE have to go away? Mayer is the one who made the comments about her, so she has a right to comment on it. If she's being blown up into a big deal, blame the stupid media, not her.
This time, Effie White's gonna win.
Whitney was wrong. Children are no longer the future. -

I agree that the media is really to blame, but she is certainly using the media to her advantage. No one is forced to go on the news with silly trite like this. Everyone has the right to comment on everything, and they DO. We are all media whores.

He said she was gorgeous and when a friend told her about it she was flattered. Until she read the rest of the article where he said his penis was a racist and there were only a few black women he'd sleep with (Kerry Washington and the actress who played Hilary on The Fresh Prince, although he called her "white girl crazy") and all that silly bullsh!t. She said he sent her an apology in an email, not for all of his comments, but only mentioning her name. She said she doesn't think he's truly a racist, but he needed to own up to all the things he said and think before he spoke.

I agree with Holly. We must think before we open our mouths and say foolish things. John Mayer is a talented musician who should have given Holly a compliment and left it at that. The other remarks were unnecessary and did come off very disrespectful to women of high-melanin complexion. I applaud him for being wise enough to render an apology since his comments did offend her.
