i love "please kill me"! i don't see how it could possibly be adapted into a movie though. there's so much in it! one of my favorite anecdotes was when allen ginsberg thought patti smith was a cute boy and hit on her.

I loved the part where Sid Vicious thought that a vacuum cleaner was some kind of drug! I know what you mean about there being too much in it. When I heard that they were making it into a movie it said the script would primarily concentrate on the story of the Ramones, which to my mind would not do anyone justice. Too many other interesting people might get relegated to the background. I would still love to see a film of the book though, without focusing on any one artist or group in particular. Hope it gets made one day!

Tilda Swinton would be great, especially if they could darken her hair and eyes. She has the same skinny, androgynous look.

I just heard that Tilda Swinton has been cast as Nico in an upcoming biopic. That would be one versatile actress, if she could pull off playing both of those women!

After seeing 'The Science Of Sleep,' this is a no-brainer: Charlotte Gainsbourg.

Yeah, I have noticed their resemblance before, and posted about it. Sometimes Charlotte seems to imitate Patti's poses in pictures. I also think it was interesting that she was cast as Dylan's love interest in "I'm Not There".
It was also recently brought to my attention that Mira Furlan from "Lost" somewhat resembles an older Patti.
The original model is still the best though 🙂

Well Ellen Page is a fan and I think she looks a bit like her, of course she'll need some make-up, but think she can pull it off as an actress as well

Here posing as Patti on Horses I think it was, right?

Yeah Charlotte Gainsbourg would be the best choice, or maybe Jaime Bochert if she could act.

Charlotte Gainsbourg would be amazing for that role. Fred "Sonic" Smith could be played by Nick Stahl. If I could choose a director to take charge of the Biopic, I'd say Jim Jarmusch.

I love the idea of having Charlotte Gainsbourg play Patti.
Someone said earlier that Richard Ashcroft could play Tom Verlaine, but I nominate Harry Lloyd for the role (brilliant actor).
