I've noticed this, too.
She was also with a younger man in Numb (2007), wanted a younger guy in Four Christmases (2008), as well as the films you mentioned.
I find it awesome as well. I wish she'd do more lead roles. She's a fine actress (as well as fun to gawk at).

I did not see 'life as a house' but the scene in Gilbert Grape when she goes down on Johnny Depp as he talks to her husband on the phone was very funny. Age difference between Mary and Johnny made the scene very exciting for me but that is matter of taste. However, there is difference Johnny Depp was not a young BOY but a young MAN in that movie.

Not really. Most 'common' reactions to older women is "ewww" from younger guys and they try to say they only want girls their age. But about 30% do not mind being honest and admitting they fantasize about hot older women like Mary.
I don't even like the name Mary that much. But she makes the name seem sexy and alluring. That's how powerful her looks and demeaner are for me.
I think in "life as a house" is the hottest cougar moment in her movies. Although she wasn't really a cougar. She just succumb to her desperate need for the sex she wasn't getting. A young tempting guy that was always over the house seemed the easiest path to getting her needs. (I wanted to be that guy lol) -

What the hell is the OP going on about as she was ten years older than him at the time as Depp was 30 hardly a young boy and she was 10 yrs older the same age difference as with Depp and his GF Vanessa Paradis .

I mean, shes 61 and i am a 26 year old that would do her, no question. Especially because shes still so hot at 61.
I wonder if shes had much plastic surgery. I like to say that women who let themselves age naturally, usually hold on to their beauty so much better than those that get work done. I wonder if this used to be more true, and now celebrities are able to get very precise procedures done these days that might actually mean the opposite of what i think is true.
oh well, i'm not surprised that she does younger dudes usually, just for the fact that id do her at 61, so she already has 36 years of believably doing 18 year olds and being too old for them.
according to aziz ansari's character, Tom, from Parks and Recreation, the socially correct age difference of a couple is at youngest, Half of the older's age +7. so by this standard she would be too old even at 24! So yeah, thats my mathematical proof as to why its awesome, believable, and understandable that she would usually be doing younger dudes.
The main fact too is that there are a lot of guys who have a milf fantasy, and shes like the exact embodiment of an older woman, that looks like a mom (and actually is), is still hot, and still classy/quality (not some whore/sloppy slut) that would be serious props.
