All in the Family
today, and wondered about the identity of the cute lady who played Teresa. So I logged onto IMDb and found the actress's page. Wow. It's sad to see how Liz Torres has let herself go over the years. I'm sure she's nice and she's definitely successful, but geez. That can't be healthy to carry around all that weight.

no its true with hispanic woman,,,i have to agreebut its because genes most of the time when that happens, so its probably in her genes. Yeah, she does look pretty bad, she is VERY heavyShes still beautiful and always will be, the only reason i would want her to loose weight is so she is healthier and lives a longer healthier life.

But alot of hispanic woman in general gain alot of weight as they get older..I'll love to see j-lo in 10 years
They do, and it is usually the result of diet, not genetics. BTW, it's "a lot" not "alot".
Exempting their diet, Hispanic women are no more prone to obesity than women of English ancestry. -

Well as big as her body is, and especially as big as her hands are I just assumed she has some kind of health issue causing the weight gain. I mean her hands are larger than most men's. I just thought she may have a gland issue or something. And I bet she does.

Geez,,unless all of ya'll can stand up to the scrutiny of being on TV for some 30 years or so, I wouldn't talk if were you. Each and every one of us has our own burden to bare. Think about how you looked throughout all the different phases of your lives and would you be brave enough to put yourself on TV during the difficult ones? Didn't think so,,it takes a very special heart to look beyond all that, and put yourself out there to do something you love. Something ya'll might want to look into.
Not that it matters, but she doesn't look like that anymore,,she's lost alot of weight.
I actually came to this message board after seeing her on a recent episode of Gilmore Girls to post about how wonderful she looks, and to say Bravo Liz. Not that she hasn't always been a beautiful woman, but I recognize the hard work she's putting into losing weight.

She obviously HAS. And for those who have never been fat, you have NO idea what an accomplishment THAT is, whether by diet, lapband, or gastric bypass! Here's a recent picture of Liz Torres:

Actually, very recently, she appears to have lost a ton of weight. There's another thread called "WOW!!" that mentions this. On Gilmore Girls this season she really looks great.
I haven't seen her most recently, but if that's true then good for her.
