Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Shania Twain

So I've noticed a little lack of activity on this board and since Shania Twain is probably my favorite singer there's a few things I wanted to talk about.
So Shania has been 8 years away from making a new album. Her last studio album was Up! in 2002 and her last one was the Greatest Hits in 2004. After her last album, we get two new song "Today Is Your Day" and "Endless Love" which weren't too bad IMO. I do understand the hardship she went throught an I hope that her long break helped her "regain her voice". She will apparently be back this December performing at Las Vegas.
Which bring up an interessting question: Will she make a good comeback ? I've heard a lot of people say that she won't they say much of her succes is due to her ex-husband Lange because her debut album wasn't so successful. Then, Lange came and produced "The Woman In Me" which went Diamond and so did her next two albums (Come On Over is currently the best-selling album by a female artist). Lange is an amazing producer and she will probably never find anyone better than him but I think she can get by without him. Shania Twain is very talented and has an amazing voice so I think she can make a good comeback even without him will she be as successful as she was before? Probably not but I'm pretty sure people will be happy to see her back.
So what do you people think of her two new songs and the whole " She won't be successful without Lange" theory ?

It's time for a new chapter in Shania's life.
She can still make good country albums much closer to her roots. I'm pretty sure her fans would love that. Especially since most of them I know much prefer the country versions to a lot of the Pop mainstream versions of her hits.
