I agree with just about everything you stated but I just want to make a correction- by definition, Latino is not a race

She is 100% mixed.
Who cares if whites don't see her as "white"? Newsflash: SHE ISN'T. Nor is she black. It's so political of mixed people to consider themselves as one race while totally denying their other half it's an insecure cry for inclusion. -

In today's climate, where anybody with a DROP of white blood (Tiger Woods, Maraiah Carey, Alicia Keys etc.) is quick to say "I'm Bi-racial, not BLACK" and will step out with a white boy or girl in a heartbeat, it's nice to know that SOMEBODY from a mixed relationship is embracing their true BLACK blood. Go Jasmine!!!

Exactly, you can't just neglect your other half. It is awfully insecure of blacks who get all up in arms when people of mixed ethnicities actually celebrate who they are and embrace all parts of them, instead of trying to pacify the black community, be it for political reasons or what have you. Is's a shame.

Maybe it would help the discussion and views on this subject to go to this link?

I view Jasmine Guy as a talented actress of mixed race who happens to culturally identify with the Black community as is her TOTAL right. I think she was also awesome in "A Different World"-I loved her style!
