Why does everyone keep saying that she looks old?

I noticed that there a several threads with people saying that katie is aging poorly.
Here are some pics-all taken within the past month. She looks perfectly fresh and lovely to me! Maybe she looks older sometimes, depending on how her hair and makeup5b4 is styled?

Also don't unders2000tand why people are saying that about her.
Of course at age 35, she is going to look older then she did at age 20 on Dawson's Creek.
Personally though I still think she looks incredibly beautiful, as she always has. -

Yes, she looks good; she looks more mature and attractive to me but she also does not look young and innocent as she previously did. I think one problem is that the cover photo for her here in IMDB is not the best.

Agreed some scenes in The Givers she looks awful. Her jowls/cheeks sag or something and easily add 10 years to her face.
I get that she's supposed to be emotionless in this movie, but she looks vacant in a lot of pictures. Like someone hollowed her out. -

As an admirer of Katie Holmes, I must admit that when I first read your post, my first reaction was to draft a response questioning your ancestry. Then, I looked at th1c84at picture.
You are right. Katie did not look healthy. Sitting beside Adriana Lima was not a good move. However, I like Katie as an actress and I have always found her beautiful. Hopefully things will work out for her.

You specifically chose photos where photographers try to take the best, full frontal shots they can to make the celebs look good. And she's wearing makeup and has her hair done.

I'm watching her in an episode of Ray Donovan right now and I'm shocked how old she is looking in this episode. I specifically came here to see maybe it was just me but NOPE!
No illwill but yes she is aging a bit badly for someone only in their 30s.

No illwill but yes she is aging a bit badly for someone only in their 30s.
Touche I am over here for the same reason. For the first 2 episodes I did not even know who she was. She seems real skinny and her face seems longer. Maybe because they want her to look too serious and the make up people have her look that way. I can only hope so. Because she always had a very pretty face. -

Saw her on Fallon and a bit of Ray Donovan, she is looking older which contrasts sharply with her years and years of her youthful, cherub looks, but she still looks pretty and young. Not quite as ageless as Rachel McAdams (also on Fallon), but hey, don't think McAdams has any kids yet or a divorce heh.

Walk down a busy street and most, if not all, women you pass in their mid 30's will look older than Katie or at best the look the same age.
Celebrities get held up to almost impossible standards sometimes. Because a handful of other actresses who lucked out with great genes and stay youthful looking longer than almost everyone else people like Katie get described as looking old, when she really only looks her age.
