Woman secretly records all of TV for 30 years = 70,000 tapes

It's in the video I posted. She was doing this back before the internet, and she was afraid that history would be rewritten, revised or lost, so she made it her mission to record every news channel, commercials, events of the day, all on the channels that were available at the time, and she recorded 70,000 VCR tapes over 30 years. She would miss engagements to rush home and change tapes in order to get everything. It became an obsession.
I have to give her props. A lot of the things being taught today are not accurate or are totally omitted.

I suppose so, yes. It would also appear that she had a good instinct in knowing what happens when history gets rewritten. This was simultaneously intrusive yet constructive.

But it probaly was not SECRET as such, just nobody gave a ****? Lots of people inher life knew she was doing this but nobody gave a ****. If YOU heard that some lady on your street had been recording live TV for the last 10 years would you really put any thought into it? like really? would you straight away go and tell everyone this exiting news? no, you would consider it a bit kooky perhaps and move on with life.
So yeah, this was not secret, just nobody gave a **** until 30 years later when it had built up to 8000 VHS tapes. -

The word "secret" was in the clip so I included it here. I think that, especially in the beginning, she did this "secretly". What I found fascinating was her motivation for doing so. Won't lie. I'd love to see all of what was going on just to see how different everything was back then compared to now. She recorded things I've never seen or heard of, even commercials. It's like a time capsule except with VCRs.
It would be nice to look back and see when the news was presented more neutrally (at least in inflection, like Walter Cronkite) compared to now, no one does that. They're interjecting their personal viewpoints, leanings and ideologies instead of dispassionately just reporting on the news around the world.
