no- I was scared that something would go wrong in surgery and she would die as a way to leave the show, just because she's been in it for ages. Not that I would want that to happen, but I just got a bit suspicious Sorry, thats not very helpful is it? try the Maura Tierney board, there is a chick there who runs a Abby Lockhart group who seems really nice and very helpful, I reckon she would know.

Yeah, it was on last thursday, it went fine. Apparently (through the magic of TV) enough time has passed that she's all done with rehab, though she seems to have a slight limp, like the leg is stiff. I've always wondered if Laura Innes has ever had hip problems because she's had to act like she does and the cane must be a bit awkward. I like the change, though it will be interesting how it plays out and how much longer she'll be with the show

No she doesnt use a can in real life. If you wont to see her in a differant light try and find some old episodes of Wings where she plays a coplete over the tope slut. You will never think of Dr weaver the same again.

Innes struggling to play disabled ER doctor
Thursday March 2, 03:50 PM By WENN
Playing disabled doctor Kerry Weaver on ER for 11 years is taking its toll on actress Laura Innes' body - she now needs regular chiropractic help to fix her aching bones.
On the hit medical drama, Innes' character suffers from developmental hip dysplasia and the actress admits her fake condition is beginning to affect her real life.
She explains, "My body is getting a little beat up by this. I have been doing it for 11 years, gratefully and happily, but it has taken a toll.
"I am not hobbling around, but my hips are not even. I have to go to a chiropractor, get massages, physical therapy.
"My back is sore and my ankle is messed up. I'm all out of alignment, and if you're out of alignment, you are really messed up."
