I was wondering about the overkill with the word "horrible"once would have gotten the point acrossLOL
I haven't seen him in enough roles to comment, but find him likeable enough on "Hung", though he doesn't really have to stretch too far in the acting there - pretty much anyone could do that part. It's his co-stars that make that show what it is.

I think you base your opinion on personal feelings about TJ (don't like his face?), not his acting ability. You say you know you'll get "trolled out" by your comment. What you probably don't see, is that you're the one writing like a troll. Everyone has the right to an opinion, but it looks more to me that you only want to pick a fight on a board, rather than discussing your opinion of an actor. If it's all unintentionally provocation from your side, I must apologize. If not, I'm throwing the turd you're throwing around, back at your face! 
It's a joke of course.
And if you didn't like The Mist and Dark Country. You can't be a fan of classic horror and film noir. Because I think those were brilliant and TJ did a great job on both of those. It's refreshing that TJ chooses smaller movies like those mentioned rather than going for the big money, which he easily could have.
Just out of curiosity, may I ask what you would classify as a great actor/actress?

To me, "trolling" is when u criticize someone elses opinion cuz u disagree with it, huge difference than just simply giving an opinionTrying to make others feel stupid, being rude to them, cuz u disagree etc..
I just gave my opinion of his acting skills, i think he is awful, i didnt criticize anyone elses opinion of hisIm sure im probably not the only one who agrees he isnt a very good actor
anyways , im not trying to start arguments with ppl on here, im just curious to see who else thinks he suckssorry if u think im trolling, im really not, nor do i ever.Thats my opinion, i think he is a horrible actor , kinda how i think some ppl are horrible singers, politicians, sports figures etc. -

I wouldn't say horrible horrible horrible beyond horrible but he's certainly proved himself to be bland and uninteresting now that I've seen more of him. I think The Punisher was his one almost good performance. Even in that I could think of a million ways to play it better. But he sucked in The Mist and Killshot atleast. He seems more focused on making himself look like a sex symbol in movies rather than putting himself in the characters shoes and ACTING. He should be a model or something, not actor. By the way I dont think you're being a troll. Whenever someone sees an opinion that doesnt match their own they automatically assume they're a troll. This is what IMDB is for!

THanks COolBrett, normally i dont start these kinda topics, but i rented 2 TJ movies in the past couple weeks, and he wasnt very good in either of them..>I was very disappointedespecially cuz i think his acting ruined the movies(well for me anyway)
I totally agree with you also about him trying to look sexy i noticed he tries to act really macho/manly.maybe that is just the way he is , but frankly its irritating he is not that hot. and he looks like he has a double chin in the mist lol and i think Dark Country(or whatever that dumb movie was).. -

Yeah, the way he comes across in movies is like he doesnt care about the lines he has to say. He's just there to look pretty or cool or whatever. He could play a complex character like Daniel Plainview from There Will Be Blood and have the exact same facial expressions and reactions throughout the whole movie. Nothing effects him. He's just Tom Jane. lol

I think he's better when he's playing a character that's not the driving force of the plot. I thought TJ did a great job in the mist because his character was reacting to the story and not driving it. I do get a kick out of seeing him on "Hung", I think he comes across as authentic. (Not to mention hearing the coincidental Arrested Development line in nearly all "Hung" episodes of "I just want my kids back").
But you are right about his acting method, he seems to employ the "Keanu Reeves" method (only instead of being Keanu Reeves in every movie, he's being Tom Jane). Either way, I think he'll be able to hammer out enough work to stay relevant in Hollywood.
When I think of horrible acting these days, I'd have to go with either Eddie Murphy or "The Rock". -

I was allergic to Thomas Jane, especially in Deep Blue Sea and Under Suspicion. His acting in Under Suspicion was terrible. But I think hes okay in Killshot and now after I saw Hung, I believe his Golden Globe nomination is well deserved.

What? So if you start a post 1354on Thomas Jane's imdb page (where it's of course bound to be fans of TJ). Where you state that he is "Horrible, horrible, horrible, beyond horrible" and where you continue ripping on him for being "laughable and terrible" and then goes talking about his looks. You feel that's OK to write and non "provocative"? People are just supposed to sit back and enjoy your show?
You don't want to start arguments here you say, but you write some pretty snide remarks. I don't know TJ personally, but I've followed his career pretty close and see him as one of my fav actors out there. And by your choice of words for a topic, I was just automatically drawn into verifying my imdb account and ask you "what's up with your post?".
I hope I'm not by your eyes seen as a troll for 100% disagreeing with you. Because it seem's that's exactly what you're saying in your previous post. I should probably start my own thread with the title "Awesome, beyond awesome actor." And get all the TJ fans on my thread to discuss how "awesome" TJ is, and you'll be here with the TJ "haters" discussing how horrible he is.
But.. where's the fun in that? I love discussing films/actors with people. And although you made it clear that you think he is "horrible". I need to ask again, what do you classify as a great actor/actress?
And how many TJ flicks have you seen?

Sadly, Thomas Jane's last few films were mediocre. But he really can be a good actor. I've seen it. Maybe he's in a slump. Who knows. But he was excellent in 61*, Thursday, and other earlier films. maybe he's just not challenging himself lately.

It's one thing to have an opinion, but calling this actor "horrible", partly becauese you don't think he's good looking shows you are either very stupid and/or simply know nothing about acting, or again you probablty just saw him in ONE role you didnt like and you flame him for that either way you are obviously confusing things and your motives are meaningless. He's not the best, but he carries out his roles brilliantly, and he has a presence on screen, therefore he deserves the fame and should be put in more productions.
I wouldnt be surprised if you were one of those little 12 year old Ray Stevenson fanboy in hiding who actually liked the excuse for a movie called Punisher War Zone?
I see dumb people everywhere, and sometimes, they don't even know they're dumb!
