I met Thomas Jane, and Tim Bradstreet, at the San Diego Comic con last year and although he wasn't drunk, he was not the friendliest guy. I think that what you saw was just his personality type and not alcohol related. He was the same way when I met him and he didn't appear drunk to me at all. I was sitting in his booth for a while chatting with Tim and his friend, who shared some snacks with us. Thomas was in and out, kinda antsy, as you say, but not drinking.
Tim Bradstreet is an absolute doll and he and Tom are partners in RAW Entertainment Productions. Tom's grumpiness could have been because of the big, to-do about The Punisher War Zone movie making a big splash there and he wasn't in it (by his choice). Many people were bringing it up to him as if he was the rejected one. I felt bad for him.
I was disappointed in his appearance. He is attractive enough except that the stats say 6' and I would swear he was shorter and not very big at all. If you passed him on the street you wouldn't give him a second glance.
The Con's are one big party. There are many cocktail parties and breakfast meetings going on behind the scenes that regular participants never see and a lot of drinking going on at those, but I still think the way he acted was just Tom. It is unfair to say things without knowing them for sure. -

He is just an average height guy, I think they listed him at 6 foot for the punisher?
"At the top of my game, I bench-pressed 275. They wanted me to do 300. I said, 'Hey, I'm just 5-10! That's plenty" and in Mens Fitness 2010 he said: "I'm 5'10", I wear a model suit size 40 regular, 32-inch waist pant and a size 10 shoe. Everything about me is prototypical. Everything. I even have a right-down-the middle-exactly-average c**k"
He was big for the punisher though, he probably dropped all the weight once he hit the bottle in depression. -

You are absolutely telling the truth! I was at the comic-con, and I was waiting in line to see him and he looked like a drunk homeless person, he had on like an Indiana Jones hat, had gray hair, and weighed like 40 pounds less than he did in The Punisher. I love the guy tho, he was cool in Punisher. But he was all over every hot girl there, but looked like a total bum. My friend is not as big a comic fan as me, but has seen his movies, and didnt believe it was really him, i had to show him the nameplate of the stand he was at for him to believe me. maybe he was drunk, i dont doubt it at all.

The best ever "drunk at a con" Tom Jane story involves him running into a bar occupied by comics pros, screaming "WHERE'S ED BRUBAKER? I'M GOING TO KICK HIS ASS!"
I wish I could have seen Bru's face. -

Man, I'm not even famous and when I go the Fan Expo in Toronto I tend to be drunk the entire weekend. You arrive in Toronto at about 11am-1pm, set up the table, and start drinking some whiskey or kentucky bourbon out of a red cup. This doesn't stop until you leave in the early evening on Sunday. Conventions are one big party, and the booze (at least for me) makes things not only more enjoyable, but you also attract more attention to your booth. In TJ's case, I fully plan on dressing up in my doctors uniform with a dixie full of Wild Turkey and hunting his ass down for a short interview on behalf of The Department of Sleaze. I'll put it up on YouTube for all you f(_)ckers to see when I get back.

I like Thomas Jane in his current HBO series, "Hung" (though I despise the series name!).
Only recently did I discover that Thomas Jane played a very intriguing character in one of my favorite films from several years ago. The characters were/are so different that I never would have connected the actor except from having learned of it here on imdb.
I believe that Mr. Jane is a real actor, one who is able to study and truly understand a complicated character (eg in the movie I refered to above). [I'm still wishy-washy on the overall quality of "Hung." Cable TV writing, Bah!] In real life, an actor/celebrity/STAR can't be "on" all the time as a previous poster wisely pointed out. Many of us "little people" find it difficult to separate the image of a "star" from the reality of the person.
Whatever dynamics that Mr. Jane (I can't call him just "Jane!") must use in his acting and however he may appear during his off time moments in a club I would still love to meet him one day. It would be a pleasure. I hope he could later say that he met me and I was drunk! lol

It's too easy to forget that celebrities are people too, with real feelings and emotions.
I can't comment as to whether Thomas Jane (TJ) was actually intoxicated or not, but I believe it's unfair to post it here (even if it were true) as it seeks to humiliate and/or undermine him. He is a fine actor and a promising director, so why don't we focus on that instead of perpetuating rumours?
I'm almost certain that if TJ ever came across all the rubbish posted in the vast majority of threads, he would surely feel deflated. Intelligent and thoughtful critique is necessary, but inane mutterings are not. -

I have to say Sotreba is a rare voice of reason on the IMDB. Sotreba's assertion that 'intelligent and thoughtful critique is necessary, but inane mutterings are not', on these threads is (it shouldn't need to be said) completely correct. Save the bile for the playground.

That doesn't necessarily mean he's a big boozer. He was also drunk on a morning show in Los Angeleslooked like he'd been up drinking all night with NO sleep. You can see that clip on YouTube, it was featured on "The Soup".

But on the imdb quotes, he said he gave up drinking in 08.
