Thank you very much for your feedback (once again), 'gk'. Much appreciated, as always.
Your rates and (especially) additional comments are very useful to me.
It seems that I have some serious 'catching up' to do here.
        Cheers!

Secrets and Lies (10/10) - Definately Mike Leigh greatest. I've watched it at least 15 times, it demands repeated viewing. It really is a masterpiece, and true about all families. The ability to destroy one another through secrets and lies but in doing so, heal some old wounds.
All or Nothing (9/10) - Just as good as Secrets and Lies, and quite brutal. The characters are all three dimensional, you don't paticulally route for anyone but you understand and empathize with each one's predicement.
Vera Drake (8/10) - Good, the most accessible, especially as it deals with a subject constantly in the social spectrum. Imelda Staunton and Phil Davis are brilliant. A good film but for me, it didn't move me as much as I thought it would.
Career Girls (8/10) - Very funny, especially from the late Karin Cartlidge. Quite moving too. I liked it alot.
Topsy Turvy (7/10) - The film I least liked but great acting, especially from Lesley Manville, Jim Broadbent and Timothy Spall. Gilbert and Sullivan were always an interesting topic to cover.
Not seen Life is Sweet, Meantime and Naked!

Thank you ver much for your rates and insightful additional comments. Much appreciated, as always.
            That was very useful.
Oh my, I didn't even know that Karin Cartlidge passed away (I'm really not up to date with 'current' film world). She was like Mike Leigh's 'regular'.
            What a loss! So sad

I finally just got into Leigh. While I find his films always interesting, most of the ones I've seen so far never quite come together; the whole is not as great as its parts. The acting is almost always top-notch, though. Maybe second viewings will amend this. Any way, of the films I've seen so far:

                                1. "Happy-Go-Lucky" (the first film of his I saw and still the one I like the best)
                                2. "Naked" (this one really jerks you around a lot, la Cassavetes)
                                3. "Career Girls" (don't know why people rank this lower than most of his othersb68 I liked these girlsand kudos to Andy Serkis' scene-stealing performance)
                                4. "Vera Drake" (very solid but left me hoping for a little more)
                                5. "All or Nothing" (became rather unbalanced after Rory's near-heart attack; the other 2 families completely disappeared)
                                6. "Topsy-Turvy" (perhaps his most accessible film; Serkis was hilarious in this [as the bouncy, balding choreographer] as well)
                                7. "Secrets and Lies" (I have to admit Brenda Blethyn's incessant snivelling started to annoy me a bit; everything else was good, though)

For me, of those Leigh films looked upon favourably among fellow fans, 10 in particular tend to crop up in conversation. Of those,

                                      ,

                                      ,

                                      and
                                      Happy-Go-Lucky
are my favourite features (with an honourable mention for
                                      High Hopes
                                      ). Of his TV work,
                                      Nuts in May
                                      ,

                                      and
                                      Meantime
are essential viewing. Of those I haven't seen,

                                      and

"Of his TV work, Nuts in May, Abigail's Party and Meantime are essential viewing."
I haven't seen Meantime yet (I hope to do so soon), but I would agree with the first two. 🙂
                                        I've finally gotten to see:
                                        Hard Labour 7/10
Nuts In May 9/10 (hysterical, easily Mike's funniest work)
                                        The Kiss Of Death 8/10
                                        Who's Who 8/10
Grown-Ups 9/10 (probably my favorite of the TV projects)
                                        Home Sweet Home 8/10
