My own favorites are High Hopes and Life Is Sweet not available on DVD in the US, unfortunately, but I was able to find good used VHS copies through Amazon.com Marketplace.
Also, if you haven't seen Topsy-Turvy and Career Girls, you should check them out they couldn't be more different, but they're fairly entertaining and worth seeking out.

'Life Is Sweet' and 'Naked' are my favourite two of his feature films.
'Nuts In May' is a lovely little TV film he did and I'd also strongly recommend that to you. It's typical Mike Leigh fair but set mainly outdoors on location in Dorset (South England). -

It looks like most of there rare films of his are avail @ Facets dot org. They have rare films for rent on DVD and VHS, netflix style. I am so excited to finally get to see his rarer films. Naked is one of my top fave films.

If you like all three of those films, then I seriously doubt that you'd be disappointed in [anything] Leigh's done. He's one the most consistently fine directors in the business for many years now; a near perfect track record.
