Yes, hardcore Zionist. When he starts talking about Israel's "right to defend itself" i.e., kill Palestinians, I turn him off. He is at least critical of Bible-thumping Christian Zionist weirdos but that's only because they make other Zionists look kooky and fanatical.
His father is Catholic but his mother is Jewish. Under Jewish law that makes him a Jew (having a Jewish mother).
