Sometime ago, I remember watching an episode of the original Star Trek. As I recall Carroll was in that episode. It was the one where scenes from the original pilot were used as part of the story. However, I don't see it listed with Carroll's credits here.

F5b4orgive if I got the title wrong of his book, but I think it was "I'm out of here". But he talked about how when William Shatners wife was found dead in there pool, Shatners, He and his wife took him in at their home and helped him through his morning period. So I suppose they were good friends.
When my dad took us to California for vacation, we went to Malibu Beach. We saw a man who I told my father was Archie Bunker walking up the beach in some loud bermuda shorts and a unbuttoned Hawaian shirt, with no shoes on. He laughed and said nah he just looked like him. But sure enough it was him and his son Hughe, a few years younger than I. And he intiated the conversation, I gues knowing we were a Mid-Western family on vacation. I thought he would be just like his Archie Bunker character. He wasn't, he was soft spoken polite, and jovial. He bought my siter, Hughe and I a snow cone and just talked with my father. He was really a cool man. It kinda distorted my perception of Archie Bunker just being about 11 years old. But I have nothing but a great memory of meeting him. And of what I recall he wasn't as serious a person as his Bill Guilespe character from In The Heat Of The Night.
RIP Mr. O'Connor
