I still think of that film! Jane was surprisingly chilling in the role of Linda Crandall. Some say she overacted, but I didn't think so at all.
It was interesting to see her play a bad guy for a change!
The film needed more backstory to it, but she did well.
"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
    "Didn't he discover America?"
    "Penfold, shush."

Yes, I have the movieI don't think she overacted either. Jane is a very underrated actressshe is quite chilling in this role. There are certain roles she nails: I think she plays evil very well, she's a great cougar, and of course, she can nail a romantic role.

I still remember most of that film, especially when sheb68 is chillingly watching her first husband die and he asks
        "I thought you loved me?"
[paraphrasing] Linda: "Oh but I do. That's why I have to do this to you. Before the lies. Before the hurt. While its all still perfect."
And the scene where she rages at the mom who is hitting her child.
        Scary stuff!
"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
        "Didn't he discover America?"
        "Penfold, shush."

Yes, I love that movie. The part when she fed the stepson the tainted tuna sandwich. As he is coughing she says "just go with it". She, Kate Jackson, and Judith Light are great at playing psychos. All have great range.
