How and why did she get a cooking show?

It's really getting annoying that all these 'actresses' who can't seem to get acting jobs are now showing up on the Cooking Channel or Food Network with their own 'cooking' show.
Trisha Yearwod gets a cooking show that they show all the time, then Debi Mazar gets a show with her husband, then the Duff sisters get a show, Tori Spelling was trying to get a show until her husband got the host job of Chopped Canada, now Tiffani gets a show.
Who's next? Lindsay Lohan?
These networks used to have shows with true chefs who focused on the food and meals, now it's about these 'celebs' entertaining and all their friends gushing over what great cooks they are, even though we never heard this before they disappeared from true acting jobs.
The Food Network stations are losing their authenticity by giving these actresses their own shows, and are turning into your basic reality show stations.

Uh, she was just a regular on a successful TV series for 5 years.
And who cares? Just don't watch it. -

I like her spirit. She's fun, down to earth, and enjoys cooking and hosting. What's the problem? If she can make a living from it, why shouldn't she? Is there some universal law which says, an actress should not be able to do anything else but act?

shrug I don't see the big deal. At least it's a functional program unlike most other reality-based shows where they stand around doing nothing and making up drama. Honestly, I'd prefer to see her back on a dramatic series but whatever. She seems to be having fun and she reminds me a bit of what Rachel Ray tries to be but can't becomes her bitchiness always comes through; Thiessen could replace her.

I have only just come across this show on Australian TV. I wasn't sure what to expect, but i find her much more interesting than I expected to! I've been pleasantly surprised. To each their own though
