Denzel "blew up" because he took roles and chances throughout his career. Blair relied on his commercial "look" that was non-threatening to white america to get him "over". Watch him kicking cow sh!t on "Old Chritine". Aw shucks mam' I'm just a good ole boy.
I don't care for Blair. I want my coffee strong and black. -

Not true. It is the opposite. I always knew why he would never be a major star and he should of. All of that poopycock about Blair relying on his commercials looks that was non threatening to white America is the complete opposite of what I know about him. And you think Washington hasn't? Smith has played the non threatening black man for so long he has become a caricature. And that is why white folks love him. Same with Washington. When he does a role where he is a villain he gets a Oscar because it goes against how people view him. Compared to Blair Underwood did you see that movie Just Cause for example? He plays against his looks a lot. Tell me would you ever see Washington or Smith play a rapist? Or in this movie a nutcase?
I met him a long time ago on a college campus. He has very vigilant views about being black and was not afraid to talk about racism. Washington has been one of those actors like Will Smith that played the game and did not open their mouths even when serious things were happening. I remember when Underwood came out with this story about Jesus being a black man. People had heart attacks. That kind of stuff will keep you from getting good roles and from being a major star. I like to see Washington or Smith make a movie like that and see what happens to their career. They would not dare.
