those shows/movies/videogames defined my whole life, especially my childhood, and the music was a major reason for their impact on me.

Devo should most definitely be put in the R&RHoF the band has had a greater influence on modern musicians than many other bands out there their music has stood the test of time, and more importantly, they're about to release a new album, the first in 20 years, and they sound more energetic than ever!

They definitely belong there. They cemented European synth new wave to the mainstream. Devo, Men Without Hats, Madness, Der Commisar, Major Tom, Dare I say Culture Club. All those memorable artists and songs owe something to Devo. The Buggles may have been the first Mtv video, but Devo made it mainstream.
I must add. Being a classic rock fan in the early eighties, I HATED all that stuff. Mainly because being a teenaged rock fan, that's what you were supposed to do. Same as the required disco hating 5 years before. But being an adult in my 40's now, I have to admit those songs were memorable, and a lot were very good.
