Striking resemblance to Kathy Bates

Does anybody else notice how similar these two actresses look? When I saw her playing the school counselor in Parents (1989), I remember thinking "Hey, it's Dolores Claiborne as a school counselor!" Then I looked her up here afterward and realized that no, that was Kathy Bates who'd played that character.

Maybe Diane Keaton or Annette Bening (the two of whom look alike), but Kathy Bates?????? Not at all.

Kathy Bates looks like an older Sandy Dennis if she'd put on a little extra weight in the intervening years.

They do share some similarities, I just don't feel comfortable comparing them; they're such unique and extremely talented women.

You do know they acted in the film "Come Back To The 5& Dime,Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean" together???
It would be very hard to confuse them.
