I know I've been a fairly frequent poster to this board lately, butneeds must when the devil drives, as they say. And I really do wanna write a biography of this talented lady.
Recently got my personal copy of 'God Told Me To.' Had seen it years ago on late nighthad forgotten how brilliant Sandy's two-scene performance wassomething in the way her voice had moved over the decade since 1966, she sounded almost Katherine Hepburn-ish on a few lines. Hope to get ahold of copies of 'Splendor in the Grass' (tiny role, but crucial) 'That Cold Day in the Park' and 'The Out-of-Towners' to run some more comparisons soon on the voice and emotional aspects of these various performances. Anyone else paid attention (since so much attention was paid by critics to Sandy's vocal patterns) to the evolution of her voice? It's an interesting through-line.
AlsoI know that the subject of Sandy'ssexuality can sometimes be a polarizing subject among her fans. I refuse to admit my beliefs, what I know or what I think, one way or the other. However, in a recent google book search, I read selections from a Julia Roberts biography in which Eric Roberts admits that, during his time with Sandy, she was very open about past lesbian affairs. This could all come into play if I ever write my book. Not that I'm leaning totally on the word of othersI have my own methods. Opinions here, there, or anywhere on how wide open I should open the can of worms in my writings?

I had never seen God Told Me To, but with your recommendation, I ordered it from Netflix. What a strange, odd movie. Quite disturbing, actually. I agree, though, that Sandy was very good. Another movie that Sandy shone in just a couple of scenes was her brilliant turn in Woody allen's Another Woman. I feel that she stole this movie from the very accomplished stars of the film, Gena Rowlands and Mia Farrow!
