Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Claude Akins

I seen him on the Twilight Zone and I said Claude Alkins looks just like Andy Griffith just a little bigger.

Yes, my family and I noticed the Andy Griffith resemblance too while watching THE TWILIGHT ZONE!

They're both "lumpy faced", but no. Andy had a tallish face most of his life, while Claude always had a "pumpkin head". Like many people on IMDB, you're just comparing superficial surface similarities, not the main structure. It's why most people can't draw faces well, they don't know how to look for the structure first.
Later in life when Andy got much fatter, he sort of "melted" toward Claude's face shape and got squintier eyes like Claude, but that's about it.

You can't tell people "no". Folks see what they see.
And I happen to agree with the OP. I was struck the first time I ever saw Claude at his uncanny resemblance to Andy, who were the same age, in "The Monsters are Due on Maple Street". I've seen that classic Twilight Zone episode now dozens of times, and I still literally always think of Andy when I do.

They were both tall men who were built solid and both had a full head of hair. But no they did not look alike as far as facial features.
You have the right to remain silent because whatever you say will probably be stupid anyway!

Neither remind me of each other. I can see the cheekbone resemblance a tiny bit. Andy never made me think of Claude though. But each interpret looks differently. That's why beauty's different to each one.
