Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Wes Anderson

    Hey guys,
If you're a fan of Wes Anderson's style you should definitely check out the movies by
    Alex van Warmerdam
They are similar in that, from what I've seen, they both tend to make movies about eccentric people in odd/stylistic surroundings. And they both have a quirky sense of humor.
    I would definitely recommend
    Abel (1986)
    (Voyeur) and
    De Noorderlingen (1992)
    (The Northerners)
    Borgman (2013)
is a bit more well known, and though I thought it was decent I did think it was a stylistic departure from those other two. And I didn't like it as much.
I haven't seen van Warmerdam's other movies yet, though I'm really looking forward to it and watching
    De jurk (1996)
    (The Dress) tonight.
I'm a pretty big fan of him and thought I should take this opportunity to shine a light on his movies and share them with people that I think would enjoy them as well.
    Zardoz (1974)
    has spoken!
    My top 100

Thanks dude. I love quirky, unique movies so I'll be sure to check this director out.
