Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Wes Anderson

    eweland — 10 years ago(August 18, 2015 03:20 PM)

Wes Anderson is one of the few directors that makes films that I appreciate, today. Yes they are quirky, but that's exactly what makes them so great.
If you don't like them, fine. But we have different sensibilities of what a film can be.
Many viewers that are younger than his/our age group don't catch the subtle humor, but every single film he did makes me laugh out loud. And most mainstream big-budget Hollywood comedies aren't funny. Wes films are.
Rated just fine, and certainly NOT overrated by any means.
    _
Kubrick's film, for the majority -
will always be the definitive version of THE SHINING.
