IMObservation the two things he is most known for is a Little Rascal and Baretta.
That is pretty much it.
He did a bunch of movies but they were never block busters or all that well known.
Was he just a small time movie actor or where they B movies or both?

You can answer that question in two ways.
Yes, because that was the kind of film he made.
No, he could have carried bigger films if given the chance.
Personally I don't know. There was a time when his image from Electra Glide in Blue was iconic - you saw the poster everywhere. But that didn't lead to a big film career - perhaps he was just too short?

he became one. many become b-movie actors.
but IN COLD BLOOD is NOT a b-movie.
and when he was a kid, you have to remember, he was in more movies than when he got older. he was basically a has-been by 10 years old. so everything he got, whether a, b or c movies, was a miracle with his persona and all he did before.
people don't lump him in with crazy child actors but he's simply a child actor who grew up.
he did more work than most child actors.
so yeah he became a b-movie actor. but he wasn't always.

"so yeah he became a b-movie actor. but he wasn't always."
I think that is the way to look at it so I agree.
He was in this movie which is under the radar called, "Tell Them Willy Boy Is Here," which also starred Robert Redford and I don't think of him as ever being in any B movies.
