Doing a bit of research, I just discovered the Top Ten Sexiest Men of the Buffy/Angel universe in a fan poll by Bufy the Vampire Slayer fanzine (2004).
Apparently this list goes:- Spike
- Angel
- Wesley
- Xander
- Giles
- Riley
- Oz
- Lindesy
- Andrew
- Gunn
I'm surprised that Spike is at the top, that Giles is above Riley, and that Andrew is even on the list. At least Conner is not on it.
Had I been aware of this poll, I would have voted. And my own version of this list would be: - Angel
- Riley. (and really, I put Angel and Riley in a dead heat)
Here are the eight others I would have on the list, but I have a hard time putting them in order: Xander, Oz, Wesley, Gavin, Lindsey, Giles, Spike, and Knox.
I guess I'm just surprised by the results of this fan poll.
And Honorable Mentions to both Ben and The Groosalugg.

OK mine would be-
Male-- Angelus- Much sexier than Angel, both hot though, i prefer him when he fills out in later seasons
- Spike- yum yum yummy!
- Caleb- Nathan Fillion is lovely, and terrifying as Caleb
- Wesley- dark Wesley, season 3 buffy wesley is less hot
- Lindsey- He's quite manly, i like it
- Hamilton- an attractive chap, plus he nearly kicked Angel's ass
- Riley- hate.his.stupid.face his body on the other hand
- Giles- there is something very sexy about that man
- Gunn-

I'm kind of surprised Gunn is so low on the list (#10). Okay, I don't have a thing for black guys, but Gunn isn't bad looking or anything. Good face, great bod, and the Gunn character isn't wussy at all.
I'm also a little surprised that Wesley beat Xander. While both characters were weak (at the beginning of the series), at least Xander was funny! I guess the whole accent thing would get Wesley 'hot point', though. I'm guessing that's why Giles is so high on the list.
And I see how Spike could be #1. Between him and Angel, he had the better romance with Buffy. He also had a romance with Dre. Lastly, he's also much more an entertaining character. Too bad he's over 40 -

- Angel (hes OK no one can get near 2 JAMES)
- Lindesy (HOTT)
5)Wesley ( HOT as in seaosn 5 ) - Gunn ( Awesome Attitude + HOTT)
- Oz ( I love him hes so Cute like andrew )
- Giles ( OLDER MEN = HOTT )
- Xander ( HOtish but id think of him more as a brother)
- Riley ( hes ummmmmmmmm ok for that homeboy look)

I see other fans say the same thing. I have always thought that Boreanaz filled out, but not to the point of being so-called chubby. In all honesty, when I first saw him in S1 of Buffy, I really didn't see what the big deal was. Then I saw him on Angel, and I swooned.

See, (as I said in a previous post), I liked both Finn and Blucas. I thought the character was well done, and he did a good job with it. I've seen Blucas in a few other things, and thought he did a good job as well. And yes, the hottness is duly noted

I had to put Jonathan on my list because he's just so cute, and my favorite of the geeks. I like tall, mature men in general, but cute geeks have a special place in my heart.
I think David Boreanaz has become an extremely attractive man, but by the end of Angel he looked so much more mature than the start of Buffy! He just wasn't believable anymore as an ageless vampire.

See, I really liked Riley's character, and I like Marc Blucas. I thought he did a g111creat job with his character. Blucas had to be uncomfortable and awkward in most of his scenes. His character was a stiff military guy, who was being used as a lab rat, practically thinks he can leap tall buildings in a single bound, and when it turns out he can't, almost dies, then has to re-adjust to being a normal person with normal person abilities. Riley was used to taking directions from someone he trusted, the rug was pulled out, and then it turns out, he's just like everyone else. And no matter how many times, or how many ways Buffy said it, he never felt that he could be her equal, in love (or demon fighting talents). The character was written to be uncomfortable. The one slot that Riley thought he fit into (the military), was a lie. That would make anyone uncomfortable.
Sorry if it seems I am ranting. I don't mean to be. Not my intention. I just have such a soft spot for Riley. I never liked Buffy and Spike being together (but I understand why it happened), and I hated the fact that Buffy and Angel were torn apart. And I always thought, if Buffy can never be "be" with Angel at all, then she should be with Riley. But that idea is a fantasy in an already made-up world.
