Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Ted Bundy

let me start off by saying I am not a "fan" of these people. I enjoy learning about them and I try to "get into" their mind and try to find out why they do what they do. I'm going to list my top three in order of the ones I find the most interesting.

    1. Ted Bundy: 5-50 victims. (Just reading about him gives me the chills and how he would act like nothing happened when he was in court. I saw that someone early on in the thread asking how people can call him a genius, it's because he is. He was incredibly intelligent, getting an academic scholorship. He was an honor student at UW and majored in psychology. He was also accepted into law school. He represented himself in court and cross-examined witnesses. He never showed remorse for what he did while he was in court. When asked to confess and tell them where he had dumped Kimberley Leach's body, to give her family some closure, his response was "But I'm the most cold-hearted son of a bitch you'll ever meet". His downfall was when police found Lisa Levy's body and the infamous bite mark on her left butt cheek) Sentenced to death by the electric char. Executed on Jan. 24th, 1989.
    2. Jeffrey Dahmer: 17 known victims. (I would say he is on of the most gruesome serial killers I have ever read about. He was a rapist, necrophile, and a cannibal. His M.O. was to lure his victims back into his apartment by telling them that he would give them money for posing in pictures. He would then proceed to drug them, and then slit their throats. He wouldn't stop there, he would sometimes have sex with the dead bodies. Usually serial killers like to keep something from each victim, something to remember them by, he did so by eating body parts of his victims. He thought that his victims would be a part of him forever when he ate them. He only ate the victims that he "liked". His downfall was when one of his intended victims escaped and led the police back to his apartment.) Sentenced to 15 life terms, totaling 957 years. Killed in prison on Nov. 28th, 1994.
    3. John Wayne Gacy: 33 victims. 27 buried in his crawlspace, the rest dumped in nearby rivers. (I've always found Gacy to be quite interesting because it is always debated that he was insane when he committed the murders. My opinion is that he was completly SANE. They argued that he didn't know what he did was wrong. He was "out of his mind". Now you're probably thinking you have to be insane to commit these brutal crimes, but the one fact that makes me think that he was sane, was how carefully he buried the bodies in his crawlspace and covered it up the best he could. If he was insane and didn't know that what he did was wrong, why cover it up.) Sentenced to 21 life terms and 12 death sentences. Executed on May 10th, 1994.
