Looks like this will be my last posting about an upcoming Gerard Butler film.
Gerard Butler to star in action film "Snow Ponies"
Gerard Butler will star in the action film "Snow Ponies", directed by renowned second unit director Darrin Prescott from a script written by Pat Healy which was featured on the 2006 Blacklist. Sierra/Affinity, which will finance the project, will make the movie available to buyers for the first time at the 2017 European Film Market in Berlin. WME Global and CAA are co-representing domestic. Kelly McCormick will produce with 87eleven along with Butler and Alan Siegel via their G-BASE production company. Sierras Nick Meyer and Marc Schaberg are executive producing, along with Pat Healy and Bryan Brucks. Principal photography of the film commences later this year.
In Snow Ponies, a crew of seven hardened men travel across a vicious landscape to deliver a mysterious package. Met by murderous bandits and brutal obstacles at every turn, they are forced to choose between survival and honor, loyalty and deceit, all the while wondering what secrets their precious cargo may contain.
Snow Ponies marks Prescotts directorial debut. He is a well-known second unit director for films including Black Panther, Captain America: Civil War, John Wick and John Wick: Chapter 2, Drive and is a SAG award winner for his work on The Bourne Ultimatum.
The combination of a globally respected actor in Gerard and a dynamic emerging filmmaker in Darrin Prescott give this action film great potential to engage audiences and t5b4ake them on a journey into a world full of dangerous characters and plot twists, said Nick Meyer, CEO of Sierra/Affinity. We are pleased to again be working with Kelly and the team at 87eleven who continue to identify not only unique and compelling material, but also cultivate the next generation of filmmakers.
McCormick added, We are so excited about Snow Ponies because it breaks the standard revenge model by focusing on the dynamics of a group of men being pushed and pulled and picked off by forces beyond their control. The violence is heavy and the action is brutal, but not repellent because it fits in with the mood of this icy and hostile world. Darrin is the perfect director to deliver the punishing, unique action and the characters that deliver and endure it.
Butler is currently in production on Den of Thieves. He will next been in Warner Bros. Geostorm and last starred in the hit film London Has Fallen, which grossed over $200 million globally.

Thanks Computer Bunny!
Snow Ponies sounds good. Hoping more originals for Gerry will see the light of day, and I mean get made and released, unlike Headhunter.
Here's hoping Angel Fallen gets kicked to curb, with original material better and rescuing POTUS being a divisive situation in the country right now. Was not aware London grossed $200 Million, knew it made dough but not that much. $ is always the incentive for the sequels.
wow, "punishing unique action" must mean natural elements - cold, snow, ice, wolves, bears, and acts of God too, like snowstorm, avalanche, falls and injuries. Plus the bandits trying to kill them. Does have elements of "The Grey" sounds like.
Thanks for all your past updates since I've been on the boards, I enjoyed them!!
My Best,

Snow Ponies does remind me a wee bit of The Grey which I'm very fond of. We will see how it goes

Except and I'll go out on a limb here to assume this by title5b4 there will be ponies!! Not only makes it different from The Grey, but there might not be anything much cuter and sweeter than a pony's face. Could compete with John Wick's puppy!! Yes!!
Cannot wait to see Gerry facing down bandits and fellow teammates who want to "kill the pony" or "eat the pony" and our Gerry will beat them down. Or, Gerry fights off the hungry wolves best he can for his beloved pony's sake to no avail of course. And then, I'll weep for pony.
I could see a man going totally crazy on another man if he killed his pony. There could be exceptions if you're starving, but the pony could also be the only hope you have to get out of the snowy cold terrain. Or, to carry the "mysterious cargo" they must keep the snow pony alive.
O come on, with a title like Snow Ponies, it would be a total gyp if there was not one pony who makes it to the end. I hope it is Gerry's pony.
Like a Gerry reunion with his Icelandic pony from Beowulf. Horses in Attila too.
I do like horses better than guns, so am hoping the guns all get lost down in the ice crevices or it's so freezing the guns don't work.
There won't be cell phones either best reason to write a movie set in the middle of nowhere is No social media checkins or phone calls.
Snow Ponies fan,
