    keepersburns,
Relativity is sinking. Last thing I read was they might have to liquidate their film library- they have been in bankruptcy, emerged out of it and it seems another bankruptcy filing could happen. Over the holidays many of their remaining employees were furloughed and vendors haven't been paid.
Hunter Killer was under Relativity but according to Variety 1/11/17
The studio did not come up with an $8 million guarantee payment and gave up its deal to distribute Moritzs film, the submarine thriller Hunter Killer, starring Gerard Butler.
Until there is a resolution to their issues I have hope we will see Hunter because Tooley left Relativity and formed Tooley Productions and is listed as one of the producers behind Hunter
HeadHunter is languishing -I don't know if GBa238se produced it I've only seen Zero Gravity Production as the producing entity- their last film The Accountant was distributed by WB
I don't know of Gerry having any movie out soon? so all the vitriol of his personal breakup being aimed at his non-existent movie premiere is crazy, right?
it most certainly is. Geostorm is being released in Oct after numerous pushbacks but it was due to WB changing regimes and accomodating Ben Affleck hehe!!!
Hardy has done so much in a rather short period of time. Like Cb68rowe he wasn't the best romantic lead but who cared? He brings it each time out, oscillating between cinema and the telly not caring what the medium is. Wish Butler would follow his lead.
Million Dollar Baby was more than a sports/boxing film- but that's Eastwood- he lets his films breathe
Den of Thieves is supposedly underway filming in Atlanta but according to JJ, he's out and about town- yeah I know one isn't filming 24/7 still as a producer you would think otherwise-
Sometimes I think I am rather harsh in evaluating Butler. I know so little about him. Maybe because other actors whose work I like to varying degrees have spoiled me to some extent
Locke is my favorite Hardy film

      Annie,
That is so sad! all the employees canned over the holidays?!! must known it was coming. As I'm sure Gerry did too. He's the overly-emotional type who needs a lot of support when he needs support??? Got to admit, now I know this, okay he really did need some support about that time in NOLA when his movie's being reshot (Geostorm) because it's probably incomprehensible as the logline makes it sound (more Gods of Egypt, which was actually entertaining in sort of an over-the-top I can't believe this crazy beep way!!)
So that's a lowish point, but someone big guns came in to save the day, and finance re-shoots. But Gerry knew about this Relativity shipwreck too poor guy, actually feel sorry for him, which for movie stars one usually do not feel. But they're just people. And everybody's worried about him being in photos with his ex in NOLA? Who cares?!
100 people just lost their jobs. Matters little. These are big disasters.
Gerry's like the rest of us, and does what he can to keep his beep together when things go south.

        keepersBurns,
it's why I think Butler is loyal to a fault. It wouldn't hurt for him to seek out a director whom he knew was casting for an upcoming film and have a power lunch.
Paul Walker did exactly that for Flags of Our Fathers- he reached out to Eastwood and while his part was small it was intregral to the film!
that's what Butler should be doing- I don't care who he is with- first time I knew he had a gf was at work last Jan-Febish- one of the girls told me an article was up on JJ about Renner and on the side was a picture of Butler. I had her click on it and we both said we will pool our money and get them a room!- If that's what he thinks is what a celebrity is - I seem to recall him saying something about wanting to be famous, then fine. But as the actor William Hurt has said, "I like to think it's about the work". And it should be.
I have seen little films such as Vigil/Careful he might hear you/Loving/Yol/The Butcher Boy/Second Best with actors I hardly knew, giving me some of the best performances ever. In this regard I think Keanu's best work is in Hardball. Thought Butler was fine in Coriolanus under Rafe's direction. MGP is my favorite Butler potrayal

Amy is Gerry's PA - personal assistant - nice looking 40ish long blonde hair lady you've seen her in photos? sometimes mistaken on YouTube for his 'new girl.' Amy should know him by now, it must be a decade she's his PA.
Gerry said his ex-girlfriend was the one who knew him best, then blurted out he didn't know why they broke up. That was during the interview with Gerry and Angela Bassett for London Fallen. Angela was talking about her husband being the one who could always help motivate her because he knew her so well.
Shortly after that (probably that day), Gerry got back together with his ex. So, I was not surprised they got back together. Seems Angela accidentally planted the seed! She is a fantastic actress in everything she does. Helps to have somebody who's got your back.
Too bad most of us never figure out WHO IS THAT PERSON?!
Video was posted on this board by Computer Bunny I think, so everybody saw it?
          That was my takeaway.

The critics do not like Gerry at all do they? Here's another negative review and another one calling it a vanity project for him. Watch them all follow suit as some critics do who can't be bothered to watch a movie that is panned initially by the heavies. Again I wonder how much Gerry or his crew had to do with adjustments to the script. He really needs to get an idea and possibly do more ensemble work IMO if he wants to build a reputation as a decent character actor at least.

Moira and crew are there in fine form, although I can't see Marg amongst them. A lot of tweets coming in saying how great Gerry is and how they cried their eyes out at the movie. This so called crass, manipulative tearjerker movie could be a big hit with moviegoers at least.

Thanks Robyn. The video looks like old times. I bet Gerry takes this movie everywhere (including Russia where he is loved). Maybe "This so called crass, manipulative tearjerker movie could be a big hit with moviegoers at least."

It's not him. It's his work. This is sensitive material that requires subtlety, not the bluster that he prefers in his acting now. Too bad if this flops. It had potential.

IMDB shows a limited release for this but it's not playing anywhere in Los Angeles, my hometown this weekend
best I can find its undated for sometime in 2017 (Rotten Tomatoes has it listed and nothing else)
unless Butler is going the Gibson route and investing his own money to distribute this- can't find anything on who acquired this for distribution- perhaps Voltage- maybe Focus (nah they dumped Kill The Messenger on the market with so little pub that if I hadn't known this was Renner's first foray into producing.)
                        have a great weekend

Annie, I think the second review is worth printing:
                            http://www.thehollywoodnews.com/2016/09/15/the-headhunters-calling-review/
The Headhunters Calling review: Gerard Butler leads this fairly generic but really rather enjoyable morality tale from debut director Mark Williams.
The Headhunters Calling review, TIFF 16.
In The Headhunters Calling Gerard Butler is at the top of his game at a top Chicago-based headhunting firm Blackrock Recruiting. When his boss, an enigmatic Willlem Dafoe, announces that hes planning to step down as CEO in just three months time, he pits Butlers Dane Jensen against Alison Bries Lynn Vogel, challenging each of them and their respective teams to bag the most sales by the time that he retires. Their reward? His job as head of the company.
Jensen salivates at the opportunity but hits a massive hurdle when he discovers that his ten-year-old son (Max Jenkins) has just been diagnosed with a rare form of Leukaemia. This morality tale pits Jensens professional ambition against his personal circumstances in a well-told, though sometimes cliched motion picture that somehow manages to win you over despite its many flaws.
Gerard Butlers strong-willed, though well-meaning career-minded motivator is, at first, a hard pill to swallow, but hes difficult not to like as a skilled, hard-working family man whose only major fault is having his priorities in the slightly wrong order. As ever, Butlers charm seeps through his performance, and even through his sometimes wonky accent something were willing to forgive this time but it is young Max Jenkins who reaps all of the acting plaudits for his strong, moving performance as Rya2000n. Brieis slightly wasted and given next to no screen time as Jensens work rival, while Alfred Molina appears now and again as a key character to the story who also delivers a very touching solo scene late on. Dafoe offers a tantalising turn as Jensens boss, an apparent conscience-less rogue who cares for nothing or no-one who isnt lining his pockets with hard cash.
The Headhunters Calling wont set the world on fire, but with some brilliant performances and some wonderfully touching moments, well forgive it for its short-comings plot-wise
, and for the way in which it sews everything up almost too-perfectly by the time the credits roll.
The Headhunters Calling review by Paul Heath at the Toronto International Film Festival 2016.

I've been saying it for years (GFW can document exactly how many). The guy is handsome and seems personable enough, but a great actor he is not. As such, he is not going to be offered the kinds of films that the better actors get offered. I've been around long enough to watch his faithful fans get excited about a movie based on what it sounds like on paper, only to be disappointed when it doesn't garner him the kind of praise and notoriety they think he deserves.
He has been in this business long enough that by now, if he had a lot of talent, it would have been tapped and he would have the connections to put that talent on display in better films.
Honestly? He's about the caliber of a soap opera actor. He should be on a soap instead of making feature films. His melodramatic acting style would fit in perfectly, housewives could swoon over him daily, and his picture could still appear on supermarket tabloids. It would be a perfect fit.

Can't disagree. Hey gretchen, how are you dealing with the flooding & destruction? We are bracing for a high wind warning here in the Seattle area. We have our generator ready.

Did fine here, though there was significant flooding and prolonged power outages and some wind damage around this county and surrounding counties. We were out of school for four days. Yesterday we tried to go to the State Fair in Raleigh and there were so many detours and closed roads that we finally gave up and came home (don't know enough of the alternate routes and back roads). We saw a lot of flooded areas during our little adventure. It's amazing to think the storm was a week ago and there are still places that are flooded. It's a lot like Hurricane Floyd was in 99. We just had too much rain in the week before Matthew arrived, and the rivers couldn't take anymore.
I saw that you guys are getting a storm over there on the "left coast"! I hope everything is okay! Smart to have a generator! I need to get one!

Glad to hear that you weren't in danger. We got lucky and the storm bypassed us. Our generator has helped keep us warm in the past and provides minimal comforts (coffee maker, microwave, one tv), but it is a small one. It's a must where we live in the sticks. One storm left us without power for nine days,
