Looks like another dud from G-Base. It's hard to ignore the bad reviews.

I've been saying it for years (GFW can document exactly how many). The guy is handsome and seems personable enough, but a great actor he is not. As such, he is not going to be offered the kinds of films that the better actors get offered. I've been around long enough to watch his faithful fans get excited about a movie based on what it sounds like on paper, only to be disappointed when it doesn't garner him the kind of praise and notoriety they think he deserves.
He has been in this business long enough that by now, if he had a lot of talent, it would have been tapped and he would have the connections to put that talent on display in better films.
Honestly? He's about the caliber of a soap opera actor. He should be on a soap instead of making feature films. His melodramatic acting style would fit in perfectly, housewives could swoon over him daily, and his picture could still appear on supermarket tabloids. It would be a perfect fit.

Can't disagree. Hey gretchen, how are you dealing with the flooding & destruction? We are bracing for a high wind warning here in the Seattle area. We have our generator ready.

Did fine here, though there was significant flooding and prolonged power outages and some wind damage around this county and surrounding counties. We were out of school for four days. Yesterday we tried to go to the State Fair in Raleigh and there were so many detours and closed roads that we finally gave up and came home (don't know enough of the alternate routes and back roads). We saw a lot of flooded areas during our little adventure. It's amazing to think the storm was a week ago and there are still places that are flooded. It's a lot like Hurricane Floyd was in 99. We just had too much rain in the week before Matthew arrived, and the rivers couldn't take anymore.
I saw that you guys are getting a storm over there on the "left coast"! I hope everything is okay! Smart to have a generator! I need to get one!

Glad to hear that you weren't in danger. We got lucky and the storm bypassed us. Our generator has helped keep us warm in the past and provides minimal comforts (coffee maker, microwave, one tv), but it is a small one. It's a must where we live in the sticks. One storm left us without power for nine days,

Glad you didn't have to deal with the storm. 9 days, wow. I think I've been 5 days without power, and that was enough for me! It was hot too. Ugh. I think that was after Hurricane Irene.
Today was a sad day. Had to put my oldest dog to sleep. It was time, and he slipped away while I was hugging his face, rubbing his ears, and kissing the top of his sweet head. That's only the second pet I've ever taken to have put down, and I was so upset with the first dog I couldn't stay. I always kind of regretted that and vowed to stay with this one. I'm glad I did. He was a good boy.

I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. I think many of us have been through that difficult decision to let a pet go to stop the pain and suffering. It is good to stay till the end, if you can handle it. Hugs.

AFM: Gerard Butler, Joe Alwyn Team for Psychological Thriller 'Keepers'
7:06 AM PDT 10/31/2016 by Alex Ritman
Protagonist is introducing the film about warring lighthouse keepers to buyers at AFM.
Gerard Butler is having a busy few weeks.
Fresh from joining Angel Has Fallen, the third in Millennium Films' action franchise, the actor is now heading to the seas of Scotland for Keepers alongside Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk breakout Joe Alwyn.
The psychological thriller, to be directed by award-winning Danish director Kristoffer Nyholm (The Killing, The Enfield Haunting, Taboo), will see Butler play one of a trio of lighthouse keepers pitted together on a remote island off the Scottish coast. Peter Mullan (Trainspotting) also will star in the film, inspired by a true unsolved local mystery and written by BAFTA-nominated screenwriter Celyn Jones and actor/writer Joe Bone.
Production Company Mad as Birds confirmed that the film is set for an early 2017 shoot in the U.K. Protagonist Pictures will introduce the project to buyers during AFM, which gets underway Wednesday in Santa Monica. The film will be fully financed by Cross Creek Pictures (Hacksaw Ridge, Black Mass, Black Swan, Rush, Everest).
Keepers will be produced by Andy Evans, Ade Shannon and Sean Marley for Mad as Birds, Butler and Alan Siegel for G-Base and Brian Oliver for Cross Creek. The project was brought into Cross Creek by Jason Seagraves, who will serve as executive producer. The film is cast and co-produced by Reg Poerscout-Edgerton.
I feel incredibly fortunate to have Gerard Butler, Peter Mullan and Joe Alwyn leading the cast of Keepers great actors who are deeply committed to this project, and who will go the distance," said Nyholm. "These men are the strong and unique characters at the heart of this story, which is a journey from innocence to animalistic survival. Keepers was great to read, will be an adventure to make and terrifying to watch!"
Co-writers Jones and Bone, who conceived the idea for Keepers while starring together in the biographical drama Castles in the Sky, added: Our objective was to create a unique script that Kristoffer wanted to direct, great actors wanted to perform and a wide audience will want to see. We also wanted to say something poignant about trust and the frailty of the human condition. Keepers has all the shock and awe life can offer, wrapped up in a film that we hope will cling to its audience well after the last reel stops turning in the cinema.
Protagonist is selling international rights for Keepers. CAA, which represents Butler, Alwyn and Nyholm, will co-represent North American rights. Butler is also repped by Alan Siegel Entertainment; Alywn by Independent Talent Group; and Nyholm by United Agents. Mullan is repped by Markham, Froggatt and Irwin. Celyn Jones is repped by APA, Thruline and Hamilton Hodell.

This is the kind of movie I have been waiting to see Gerry in. It seems like a class production all the way, with an award winning director and decent scriptwriters at last. I also really like Peter Mullan, although I am not familiar with Joe Alwyn at all. I'm really looking forward to this one, much more so than 'Angel Has Fallen' which IMO sounds kind of predictable and a bit like 'Air Force One'.

Joe Alwyn is an up and coming young actor- his showcase role in which he is being bandied about for Oscar recognition is Ang Lee's Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk- I saw the trailer when I saw Inferno on Friday
Not familiar with Mullan and am looking sooooooo forward to Nyholm's Taboo starring one of the best actors ever- Tom Hardy
Cross Creek is fully financing this- they've financed such films as Rush/A Walk Among the Tombstones/Hacksaw Ridge (a po5b4tential Oscar nominee)/Ides of March/Legend
that this is based on an actual event in Scotland we can hear Butler's natural voice! and yes if the film is allowed to breathe, this may just let peeps know Butler can act as he did in The Jury/Dear Frankie
                                have a wonderful week!

I don't want another sequel to "Olympus Has Fallen." I want the sequel to "Phantom of the Opera" to happen. I'm anxious for Gerry to reprise his role as the Phantom. The world needs to hear that beautiful voice of his again.
