As a graduate of Duarte High School in Southern California, I had heard over the years that T.K. Carter was a graduate of the same High School. Did T.K. graduate from Duarte High or Monrovia High?

He was at DHS for his Sophomore year. I coached him that year (Fall of 1973).

Plus, one of the pics on his Facebook page shows him wearing a BLUE cap and gown for graduation. (If I'm not mistaken, Monrovia school colors are green.) DHS, blue.

I was his drama teacher when he attended Duarte High School. I recruited him and cast him as "Oscar" in Neil Simon's "The Odd Couple."
I was also his Speech teacher that year. He used to rip up my speech classes with his wit, his timing, and his overwhelming charisma. I asked him to read for "The Odd Couple" because I knew he was someone special.
I have been told that some of his early standup material that he performed at the Comedy Store on Sunset Blvd. was based on his experiences with me.
I saw him once in person after he graduated. I was walking down a street
In Westwood Village, when I heard, "Miss Wiegert!" Really loud. He was driving a convertible. He was at a stop light, and. In front if the crowds gathered there, he jumped out if his car, ran over to me, and planted a big kiss on my lips.
The next time I saw him was the opening scene of "The Thing." He came in on roller skates skates complaining.
I agree that T.K. had a strong start and didn't become the star he was born to be. But I am still very proud of him, and he STILL has time. You go ahead on, T,K. You have always been my fondest success story.
          Mrs. Lou Ann Wiegert Fuentes
