I Still Love You, David

I didn't say anything in my first post about Jack, you did. As far as Jones goes, I'd believe her as far as I can throw her. I have disliked this woman for 40 years. I'm not about to change that fact now.
I also never said David didn't need help, but his FORMER stepmother should keep her opinions to herself.
What I DO know is this:
Jack Cassidy died a few short months BEFORE his 50th birthday. Dying at 50 is senseless and unnecessary. There is no reason on earth for him to have died so young.
So, my question is this: IF he was NOT drunk, why did he burn to death. The remains had to be identified through dental records. Jack's car was not there, so the first thought was he was away for the weekend. He let a friend borrow his car.
Also, where do get that David lies about Jack? I never heard him say one bad thing about his father. He wanted his love and support which is what any parent should give their child. His mother moved to California, so David could spend time with Jack when David was 10.
He had nothing but praise for the man. Also, Jack had given him a ring with the Cassidy family crest on it, that disappeared. David was upset when the ring was gone.
THIS is what happens when you've been a fan as long as I have. You revel in their achievements, worry when they're hurting or in trouble. And grief when they hurt themselves.
If my still loving David even though he got a DUI offends you, then that's your problem to get over. I've loved him for 40 years. I most likely will til the day I die. That isb68 not about to change. -

Jack died in a time when a lot of things that have now been proven to be flammable have been pulled off the market. Cigarettes did not extinguish themselves right away. Jack was sitting by the fire place and may have mistaken the smell fo fire to be from that.
The cause of the fire was unknown actually the the cigarette was just a guess. It was Xmas time and it could have been a defected ornament.
Jack did try to get out and he passed out from lack of oxygen.
People die in fires all the time. Do you think they are all drunk?
The incident I am referring to when you said don't turn out like your dad.
The scene that you mentioned was taken from David's movie where they show Jack Surrounded by bottles and then passing out.
That was a lie.
There was no liquor found at the scene.
A level of .12 when you are sitting at home in your living room is not a significant amount.
The fire only took 15 minutes to put out.
David was driving around with a .14 and lied to the police.
That is much worse.
That is my argument.
Why do you believe David? He wasn't around Jack the last two years of his life when Shirley and her kids were.
BY the way, Jack has two grandchildren named after him. -
RustyL — 15 years ago(November 19, 2010 10:43 AM)
Number one: when Jack was found he was laying on his couch/sofa,etc.
As far as the beer bottles, no it was NOT from the movie. The last scene of Jack, in the movie, was in a hotel room with Shirley, before the divorce. I heard about the bottles in Dec. of 76, when the man died, alone in his apartment.
As far as what i said about turning out like his dad. Uh, Jack died at a young 49. David is 60. Yes, that is older than 49, but also relatively young, especially if you happen to be 53.
So, if Jack had been sitting in his car, he'd have been drunk, but not in his apartment.
Oh and THIS is what I found at findadeath

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
disputes EVERYTHING you supposedly found at findadeath. -

You have to go to the message board at FINDADEATH.com that is where Jack's articles are. Jack is on page 2 (Actors and Actresses)
Jack was found near the porch. Scott initially had him at the door. A lot of information in the directory have been corrected. Scott just kind of added information at time when along and the article read very disjointed.
Jack alchohol level was .12 at a time when the legal limit was .10. A lot has been done to raise awareness of drinking and driving since then the limit was lowered.
For the time Jack as not what you call drunk. Passed out drunk is .20.
BY the way Smoke Detection was still primitive in 1976.
The report that Scott later added if you look near the bottton said that there was no alchohal found at the seen.
The point I am trying to make is that you are238 making a bad comparison by comparing David to Jack.
David was caught weaving in and out of lanes, A small red car had to stop suddenly. HE had alchohal on his breath and couldn't walk straight.
Jack was a 4 pack a day smoker since his teens and that was his major health problem. RIght now Danny Bonaduce, who is 52, is being told the same thing and Danny is wearing the nicotine patches all the time. Danny has asthma.
BY the way, there was a disclAIMER at the end of David's movie if you think there is any truth to it.
Closing b68credits indicate the "Story" is not necessarily all that true and that certain characters are composites.

coconn your a psycho. you make all of these crazy posts bashing cassidy while being wierdly obsessed and knowledgeable about him and his family. its creepy. GET A FREAKIN LIFE. whether hes a good guy or bad guy i dont know and i dont care. its his business. but its clear you have some personal insane vendetta against this guy unlike anything ive ever seen before

Its a hobby. I have other things to do if that makes you feel better. I know it is controversial. I have seen people take the high road for a long time. It doesn't work.
Time for bad publicity.
The guy needs help. Maybe the only thing that will work if these people feel the impact financially. -
coconn04 — 15 years ago(December 02, 2010 09:12 AM)
Before this he was giving bad concerts and insulting his fans.
I am sick of all this David has the flu or he is not feeling well crap.
HE IS NOT GETTING THE HELP HE NEEDS.
People spend good hard earned money at those things.
I guess if you were the subject of David's wrath it would be another thing.
People who have been there said that if they weren't there, they would not beleive it. -
joeeeeyyyyy53 — 15 years ago(December 02, 2010 09:42 AM)
idk cause i don't spend my time going to all these concerts for a guy who was famous 40 years ago.. what i do know is that i went to high school with his son and hes one of the nicest dudes ive ever met

I think Beau seems like a nice kid. I have heard mixed reviews about David personally. David does go into his concerts messing up and insulting people who pay to see him.
This thread was started by someone who said, don't turn out like your father David.
Well David's father's blood alchohol level .12 when the legal limit was .10.Jack was sleeping, not past out drunk.
David alchohol level was .14 and he was driving around and David is pleading innocent.
I know the facts of the case of Beau's grandfather death and David goes around making up stories about it.
I heard from someone who talked to Beau about this. They were recently trying to collect money to get Jack a star on the WALK OF FAME.
David agreed to cooperate and then he was doing things that undermined the efforts.
The word I got was that Beau is heartsick over the way David treats people.
Jack did a lot to help people. He has two grandchildren named after him.
David just goes around making up stories like he is a self made man who did it on his own. -

i know that he loves his dad. idk about the anger he had towards him but i know for a fact that they have a good relationship because ive seen it. something that you cant say. you have all this crazy stuff that your saying all because of word of mouth which is rediculous. to be honest ive never even heard of jack who you're so obsessed with. sure he may have done well back 60 YEARS AGO but in my opinion the only people who deserve stars on the walk of fame are people who have lasting fame.

Here are some reviews to David's concert. This was a couple of weeks ago.

Here is David on 2 different occassion. You would think he would learn the words to a song.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RF1UQOBiPwA
Same song and he is still struggling to get through it.

I am not the only person who is angry. This thing that you have about lasting fame. Have you been to this "walk of fame". YOu probably don't know most of the people. How do you know some young people like Christine Aguilera will have lasting fame?
David's lasting fame in mostly when he was 20 and was on the Patridge Family
Jack was more of a Broadway star. He appeared in 33 Broadway show and was one of the most nominated in history. HE won a Tony Award.
JAck's son Patrick just did the role his father played on Broadway in Texas and it might go to New York.
HE guest stars on a lot of TV. Here is one.
Reviews
This Columbo episode is probably noted more for the director, Steven Spielberg, as one of his early films.
It should be looked at for Jack Cassidy's role as the murderer who kills his partner in writing to maintain his lifestyle.
Jack Cassidy would appear in a later Columbos.
After all, Columbo meets his match in Jack Cassidy's character. He is a mystery writer who plots to perform the perfect murder.
After his first murder, his next victim would be the annoying general store owner/widow who would blackmail him for money. Rather than losing more money, he kills her. It is very entertaining to watch Cassidy and Falk .
Here is a youtube video trailer.

I have read all the posts here about David Cassidy and, in reply to Cocoons reply to Rustyl reply David was not drunk or rude to his fans when I saw him three years ago at Hammersmith - I should know I was in the fifth row from the stage and as far as I could see he was having a joke with everyone who attended that concert and if he forgot words to certain songs it's because he's not sung them for years for instance he sang the song Sing Me from the Dreams album and he had to start the song about three times, the reason he didn't know the words was because the last time sang this song was when he recorded the song for the Dreams album and we're talking over thirty years earlier about '73 so naturally he's going to forget words to songs he's not sung for over thirty years. As for David lying about Jack well I would've thought that David would know what he's talking about after all Jack was his father, and Jack actually suffered from Bi-polar. I am due to see David in concert again in just over four weeks time and am looking forward to seeing him again in concert as are the people who have bought tickets for his birthday concert, I have also met the man and he was really kind and put me at my ease when I told him I was nervous as meeting him, he was very pleasant with everybody who queued up patiently to have their books signed by him. So Cocoon just shut up and unless you've met the man you don't know what he's like - I think personally you're one of the many people who put David down because you're just jealous of his talent just like Richard Hatch (or as I've started calling him hatchet man) has done on Celebrity Apprentice (thought I would spell it out because you might not know what CA stands for, you might thing is stands for California). Now I've said my piece lets see what you have to say in response - you remind me of some people on an online message board called C'mon Get Happy there were some people one there who didn't know what they were talking about and sometimes didn't get their facts straight either, so I suggest you get your facts straight before you start spouting your mouth off again about David.

I still don't know why David thinks people are jealous of him.
If you want to be an enabler and believe all the excuses, you can do that.
You can go on a lot of the other message board and they will all tell you how rude this guy is.
You might meet him one time and in that one moment he is anything you want him to be.
Beyond that, what you have is a bitter old man. -
lr_lmbrt — 15 years ago(March 14, 2011 01:17 AM)
I think you are a bitter and nasty person who in my opinion is one of the many people who is jealous of Davids talent. I have read many things about David, he does a lot for various charities and, has done so ever since the seventies. I have been to other boards andn one of them was in fact the C'mon Get Happy where there were a lot of people who didn't put David down but people who joined the message board. If David is "rude" as you say then it's probably because people are bothering him when he wants to be left alone, and trying to enjoy a meal with his family - there have been times when David has been interupted by people and naturally he gets annoyed after all he is only human like the rest of us at the end of the day. If you have watched the current series of Celebrity Apprentice you will notice that it was Richard Hatch who was pushing David around and not the other way round, he instead walked away without saying anything, as to being rude well that's just your opinion (and everyone is entitled to their own opinion) but he is not rude - certainly not to his millions of fans who have been with him from the start. David Cassidy is not a bitter old man, he is a kind thoughtful and loving person who we all still adore even to this day.

2000David is playing to half filled casino room and doesn't have a big enough fan base to fill the bigger stadiums.
David's performance on celebrity apprentice was poor because he called a lot of people and he only made $1,000.00 and that was from his daughter.
Where are the millions of fans?
Most people don't even know who he is anymore.
