Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Frederick Coffin

    Brandon Hall — 20 years ago(April 05, 2006 01:26 AM)

He changed his name to Holden McGuire for the low-budget slasher film "Mother'rs Day" in 1980. I'm making a webpage about the movie but, I need some information. If anyone can give me any information on him, send me a PM. I'd greatly appreciate it.
I know you are, but what am I?

fred coffin and his twin brother will coffin grew up in southern michigan and norhtern ohio in the late 1950's and early 60's . They came from a large family that included a sister , Celia , and 2 older twin brothers , Howard and Tris . Fred was a great high school basketball player and sang in the choral groups and played the accordian . He attendedthe U. of Michigan and began his professional acting career in and around Detroit . He traveled and settled in NYC . He appeared in off - Broadway productions , including THE BOOM BOOM ROOM and GOD BLESS YOU , MR ROSEWATER , one of his greatest successes . He also appeare1c84d in Joseph Papp's Shakespearean productions . He married the Broadway dancer ,Barbra Monte-Britton and they moved to LA where Fred began tv and movie work . He loved performing , even to the extent of singing for friends in the backyard of his LA home . He was a loyal friend and , despite his large frame , a gentle and kind soul . Throughout his professional carrer he was embarassed by the public's attention of his acting efforts . He had great acting skills , which the entertainment industry never fully appreciated .
