I had that, but it technically wasn't mine.
We owned Castelvania, Metroid, the 3 Mario games (first game on the same cart as Duck Hunt), and would rent or borrow others.

I didn't have one either. I used to play it on the weekend at my cousin's.

What I meant was my half brother got it from his grandpa. It was his, but I played it all the time.
I remember when trying to beat Castlevania we'd play it before school, keep the NES on with something covering the light and the TV off so my mom wouldn't turn it off, and then come back from school and play it more.

Yeah, but I grew up in the 90's.
I feel like now, kids don't bike everywhere. Like, sometimes, we wouldn't even have a destination.
We used to go under the bridge over a creek in the neighborhood sometimes… or go in the woods. Probably why I love Stephen King stories and Stranger Things. That's how it was.

A replacement white ps pro when I ripped the power thingy off the motherboard of mine. I felt awful bc I eventually got a ps5, and bc I lied and told my dad I don't have it anymore when it's actually sitting in my collection because he took my original one 🙄 lol

Hmmmm. For kids I'd recommend minecraft. There's also fall guys and I cried with laughter playing that, pushing people over the edge
I'll have a proper look through my library later and see what I can find. What kinda games is he into?

He's got Minecraft I think. He plays fifa the most. All the best games are 18 and his mom won't let him play them.

                          soapbox original gangster — 1 year ago(March 26, 2025 04:36 PM)

my students in one class sprung a surprise party for me on my last day of my 3 year teaching commitment. somehow they kept the whole undertaking absolutely secret from me, and I was totally knocked down. 12 years later i still have the group photo and all the gifts i received.
