Yes. He's the male Anne Hathaway, although mercifully he doesn't mug relentlessly at the camera as she does. He
is
just as self-conscious as she is - everything he does onscreen is for effect and is completely false. He couldn't disappear into a role if he tried. -

I have watched Silver Lining Playbook. Jennifer Lawrence carried him. Same can be said about the entire cast of American Hustle. He tried so hard in both movies to push himself above everyone. It became annoying after 30 minutes.

I'd rather watch a Reeves movie than BC. Reeves is bad for completely different reasons though.
Examples of great actors acting - check out Jack Lemmon in 'Save the Tiger' and Gene Hackman in 'Mississippi Burning', 'French Connection I & II'; Jack Nicholson in 'About Schmidt', 'As good as it gets'; Gary Busey in 'The buddy holly story'. -

His comedic timing is excellent. I wish to God he would still d238o comedy again in the future. Enough with the so called Oscar-material films.
What does it matter what anybody thinks? Most people don't think. -

What? Have you even seen AMERICAN HUSTLE,THE SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK,or THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES? He's good in ALL three of those,especially the first two. And he's handsome, but not in that lame Hollywood pretty-boy wayhe's attractive in a more real-life regular guy way. I actually wasn't even going to see THE SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK until I saw him interviewed on the Charlie Rose show on PBS having a deep discussion about not only the film and what it was really about (a guy dealing with bipolar depression) and that's when I decided to go see it ( it was being marketed as this happy-go-lucky feel-good Hollywood filmwhich it's not, it's something different.) But anyway, as far as I'm concerned, he's proven himself a real talent to watch form now on.

He's not a terrible actor but I dislike his acting. I don't believe him. I'm unimpressed.
Yes I have seen American Hustle and Silver Lining Playbook
I have seen a lot of his work and remain unimpressed. I do think he ruins films at times. I feel like I would have liked American Hustle with a different actor playing his role. I didn't like Silver Linings. J Law is a decent actress, and so is bale. He is the problem for me. Amy Adams is AMY ADAMS, I'm too biased with her. She is so damn beautiful.
