As the return of many good bands have been announced lately Whitesnake is also finally coming back!
They're expected to hit the road this summer for a new tour which will take place in Europe, U.S.A. and Japan.
They're currently working on a new greatest hits album. This album contains four new songs in studiorecording. A new single is expected some time this summer. After this album and tour they'll be recording a whole new album which is stated to be released at the end of 2006 or the beginning of 2007.
This is also the year of their 20st anniversary of the Whitesnake/1987 album. The line-up contains David Coverdale and his bandmembers as can be found on www.whitesnake.com. There's a possiblity that there's a slide change as Adrian Vandenberg, Steve Vai or Vivian Campbell might return.
A part of this comeback news is now confirmed on www.whitesnake.com! -

I have seen no mention on the Whitesnake site as to a return of any of the former members of Whitesnake. to the contrary, the new members David has put in place are Uriah Duffy, Reb Beach and Doug Aldridge. David has repeatedly stated publicly via both in print, (on and off his site), as well as on numerous Television and radio interviews that there will not be a reunion or return of Campbell, Vai and/or Vandenburg now or in the future. I suggest you go to Whitesnake.com and look under "David's postings" to confirm. Furthermore, there is still no mention as of today's date of the band coming to USA for any leg of the upcoming European Tour, although, American fans are still watching and hoping for a repeat performance of last year's return to American soil.
