Sorry, can't buy into it…

Totally agree! As a fan of "Rescue Me", I was, needless to say, RELIEVED when her character left the show. Her voice itself is just plain annoying and I couldn't take it! I will honestly say that I haven't seen her in anything else, but I wouldn't venture out to say that I'd want to either.
Annie please, for God's sake.. -

I completely agree UGH I started watching the second season of Numb3rs and every single time she's on screen I can't stop cringing. Not including temporary characters in many TV series, she is the worst actress I have ever seenshe CANNOT ACT. She can't convey emotionand as you said, she has bad timing and can't deliver dialogue.
the rest of the cast of Numb3rs are fineI mean, they aren't the best actors in the world, but for the most part, they are good (especially Charlie). and its not their fault that whenever Diana Farr is in a scene, none of the characters have ANY chemistry with her. Its not their fault, they are doing the best job they can as actorsits her, she is absolutely AWFUL. UGH! I find her so irritating, and I haven't even gotten started on her personal qualities (looks, voice, etc) -

Too bad some people only seem care about superficial aspects of others. Everybody has good things about them, it just depends on who's doing the observation and bias they might have. It might cause them to lean toward the positive or the negative. How does voice and looks matter? I thought acting is about skill. If one doesn't find her skilled why criticize her personal characteristics? Why not just say you don't like her acting and call it a day. Seems superfluous. Not trying to be rude js.

You know I actually felt that she was a little bit off too the first time I saw her in Num3ers. However having recently watched "The Job" in which I thought she was properly funny, I have changed my mind. Re-watching Num3ers I find that her character softens the hard edge that runs through the show.

I watch the show "when it's on" and "Bones" or "Criminal Minds" re-runs aren't.
Everytime I read someone write about someone being a bad actor I often take a second look and say "Hmm, they're right. They are pretty bad!"
But not Diane. She's fine, even when I'm studying expecting to see some groaner acting. So I'm not sure what everyone else is seeing!
Now I shuddered when I saw Sean Combs and Justin Bieber try to deliver lines on CSI's recently. Yowch! Painful.

I actually looked her up on imdb to see if anyone else felt this way. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one. I also think that she tends to kind of let her head flop around a lot on top of her neck. I'm only partway into season 2 of Numb3rs, but every scene she's in where she's standing up, she's constantly tilting her head to one side or the other like she's incapable of holding it upright. I'll also agree that she really doesn't carry off a persona that lends itself to believing that she holds any kind of degree. Gillian Anderson might be kind of a spazz in person, but no one questioned her intelligence in X Files.

I'm getting a lot of Numb3rs reruns on weekends so I'm catching up on the show a bit more. I watched her more and I thought of this thread again and I have a finger on what makes her different.
She's more real. The other chick (Aya? Navi?) uses the sexpot method of detective acting. Like Delgado and Spade in "Without a Trace". Like Caleigh and Alexx in "CSI Miami". Etc. They're great, but they deliver their lines while at the same time trying to seduce the camera!
Reeves seems to be the one actual agent contemplating the actual case more than making a smoldering delivery with her lines! That's how I'm seeing it. I've never seen anything else she's been in.
Ya'll are still free to have your own opinions though.

I agree and her raspy voice is a little grating. It may be natural but after an hour I am ready to turn off the TV. Normally I don't mind a little rasp but hers is too much. -

I literally looked this chick up JUST so I could see if anyone else had this same opinion!
And Thank God because she is just so awful on this show! I just started watching it again, and I absolutely LOVED the first season.. but I am highly irritated so far at the second.
It's not just that she's really bad, sometimes, you have to deal with that. It's that they feel the need to put her in almost every scene!! It's ridiculous! She has the most dead expressions I have ever seen. Absolutely nothing in her face, actions, or tone!(I'm surprised to even see her smiling in her profile photo.. I truly thought that was out of her range..)
I wish I knew why the replaced the woman from the first season, she just meshed well with everything. This woman just didn't fit the bill.. -

I think Diane is really quite a good actress, she is one of my favorites on Numbers! I enjoy her acting, she seems real. I think she is quite expressive, far from having dead expressions! Also I happen to really like her voice, there is nothing annoying about it, it is unique and distinctive. And she is attractive as well. I really like her.

I think she is amazing. By far the best thing about the show "Numbers".
Not only is she gorgeous, but her acting is fantastic.
Apparently, she is an accomplished author also. She has a best seller and she regular writes for other publications.
I think she is incredible. -

Let's update this to Fire Country, while her scenes as a wife or mom outside of the firehouse are good and the acting works. When she is out in the field as a fire chief or as a firefighter, her acting is not only bad but totally unbelievable. Whining, scared and always worried about Bode or Jake and not even focused on the job, just makes me want to hit mute. I like the format and the roles for age appropriate casting but she comes off as a frail, afraid, and an unprofessional leader/firefighter. I know TV but… In closing, she is a good person, they need to write to better suit her strengths as an actor.
